I liked that the activity was something I could model in the classroom with my students

The content wasn't super helpful, because it was mostly about giving feedback, and I need to get my students to write more first. Also, at this early stage for me, I could use access and suggestions to different types of texts and resources to work with more than anything.

Something More fine tuned to our particular populations (personal narratives may expose some of our kids to injury, trauma, or "drama" among peers.

Scaffolding to longer writing. How do I get my students to write more in the first place, so that they can give each other feedback. Also, what prompts do we have about writing that would work, but aren't quite as personal. Mostly because it's hard to get feedback anyway, let alone feedback on something that was quite personal to you.

The small group work was great.

I feel that there should be a separate day or PD for detention and revocation. Everything all of these PDs do is for treatment or long term facilities. Nothing for short term.

any means of having students examine/proofread their own work if they are not comfortable around their peers (aside from peer reviewing them myself, I already do that a bunch)
