The Victorian Period was the epoch of Queen Victoria's reign from 1837 until her death in 1901. It was a long era of harmony, success, sophisticated susceptibilities and nationwide self-confidence for England. When it comes to social history the Victorian era was known as an age of ethics, and high standards for the English citizens. Its regards pivoted from rationalism to religion, relations, and the arts; this explains the artistic value in the architecture of many religious buildings during this time.

It was a type of construction during that time, however it didn’t become popular until the end and even after Queen Victoria’s reign. We even see it in use today in the varied mix of Victorian and modern architecture in places like San Francisco, California. This style was influenced by Asian, Middle Eastern, Georgian, Regency, and Edwardian styles. This trend was born during the early Industrial Revolution, which made it more accessible and popular during this time.

This style was mainly timber work. Wooden posts, beams, lintels and joists make up the framework of a house. They made changes to the decoration and ornamentation of the houses but the timber work stood with architecture even to this day and was a major part of Victorian architecture.itizens of this time also added the embellishment of the ancient middle eastern building style, which was the Renaissance of Gothic Architecture.

Edwardian architecture is generally less ornate than high or late Victorian era architecture, but otherwise it is the same. The style of Georgian and Regency buildings are varied, but marked by a taste for symmetry and proportion based on the classical construction style of Greece and Rome which were revived in the renaissance architecture.
