The rules work similarly to scrabble, where you are given a set number of tiles and you must compose something with them. In this case, you use numbers operations and equations. I would definitely use this type of game for students to challenge each other. It would serve a similar purpose to Mr. Anderson's classroom from the TedTalk. Then again, I have seen classrooms provide the new TI models. However, it would be a very useful tool for students to have if they do not have one at home to use. Desmos is a graphing calculator on your phone. It has many many different functions that students can use. It allows the user to view how certain solid can be formed. They have many different features including: highlight vertices and edges, zoom in and out, rotate the shapes, and color selected elements. I would see this being used in a more elementary type geometry class. The app gives any level algebra problem, and deconstructs the procedures in a different way. It takes you step by step and shows you why the algebra works. I see this being used for students at any level who may want or need a different point of view of how to perform algebra.
