I would define western art as a montage of work over eras that has shown to be prominent. Western art in classical sense has shown to live lively through the music and art world. Classical music in general is art and emotion. From what I understand classical music has been incorporated through many things. For example, classical music has combined with dances, paintings, songs and even movie fight scenes.I think the fact that combining those factors allows listeners to understand musical pieces even more and gain more emotion by having a visual performance through dance, art and/or a movie scene emphasizes the classical piece even more. My Padlet will demonstrate how western art incorporated with other pieces of art create two different interpretations on the music and the other visual arts.

"Why do we choose to study only one of these musical practices and the music that follows?"
I think this quote can be taken into a lot of interpretations. For example, why do people associate classical music as boring and follow it up with a image of old people in a home. Having ideas like that only allow people to see one side of music.
"These genres were the “winners,” and the musicological research that followed was shaped by the value placed on these genres and their creators."

This video shows how dance and classical music tie together to emphasize emotions. Both players have this intense build up that can obviously be seen through their playing. As well as, the dancing with the music it adds to the intensity and movement of the song itself.

I chose this video because I think it is important to see how western music follows through the years and influences people of any age. Especially, at such a young age, a complex song be played by a toddler shows how cool it is.
