         <description><![CDATA[<div>Born in Ulyanovsk, Russia, Vladimir Ilich Ulyanov was born and raised by a middle class family. After his older brother was killed he became radically involved in politics. After a protest with the students, he was expelled out of the Kazan Imperial University. Although, later on, he got his law degree, and practiced law in the 1890's. After being exiled to Serbia, he met other Marxists and picked up the name Lenin. Also, he started the Bolsheviks </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When Lenin was exiled in Serbia, he picked up the practice of Marxism. Then he started the Bolsheviks. Soon these Bolsheviks, were governing Russia. Eventually the government was split into two, the Bolsheviks (Reds)  and the Tsarists Government (Whites). There was a lot of back and fourth in this Civil War, but the Bolsheviks pulled through and gained control of Russia. Lenin became the all around, a strong leader. </div>]]></description>

During the Russian Civil War, he carried out mass killings, where they would target their opposing enemies (whites) It's estimated that he killed around 10,000 people in these mass killings </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The way Lenin fell from power wasn't glorious or really controversial. He died. He became leader of the USSR, which at the time his health was already declining. His death let an even more controversial leader in, Joseph Stalin. <br>Lenin was embalmed over and over and his body was preserved, which the tomb was open to the public for years. Then Stalin's body eventually joined him.</div>]]></description>
