Namun efeknya bisa merugikan hewan lain menurut orang-orang.

Solution : Solusinya adalah membuat habitat baru yang penuh dengan bambu agar panda bisa hidup lebih lama.

Waste is generated due to population growth, while the space available for waste disposal is becoming increasingly limited. Much of the waste that cannot be recycled is eventually burned as fuel or buried in landfills.

With the increasing amount of waste caused by population growth, non-recyclable waste is often buried in landfills, where toxic substances from the waste can seep into the soil and water, polluting the surrounding environment. This pollution damages natural habitats and disrupts the food chain, leading to a decline in populations of various organisms and reducing biodiversity. Additionally, the use of land for waste disposal reduces living space for plants and animals, worsening overall ecosystem damage. Therefore, poor waste management significantly contributes to the decline of biodiversity in an area.

Soil and Water Pollution
Waste dumped in landfills decomposes and produces toxic chemicals that can seep into the soil and contaminate groundwater. This can damage natural habitats and negatively affect soil organisms as well as drinking water quality.

Poor waste management can harm the soil, water, and air, disrupting the balance of ecosystems. To address these impacts, we need to:

Reduce waste production,

Recycle and reuse materials,

Use environmentally friendly technology,

Make compost from organic waste,

Increase public awareness,

And enforce strict waste management regulations.

Good waste management requires the involvement of all parties: communities responsible for sorting and reducing waste; governments that create policies and provide management facilities; companies that must manage their production waste in an environmentally friendly manner; schools that educate students on the importance of environmental care; and environmental organizations that actively raise awareness and mobilize the public. Cooperation among all parties is essential to minimize the impact of waste on ecosystems.

Effective waste management requires trained human resources to handle waste, sufficient funding to build and maintain treatment facilities, environmentally friendly technologies such as recycling machines and clean incinerators, and adequate land for landfills. Additionally, information and education for the public are important so they become aware and actively participate in waste management.

United Nations Environment Programme.

the problem: the landfill legacy

long-term environmental and health problems caused by old, often unregulated, landfills that continue to release toxic substances and greenhouse gases into the surrounding environment. Key issues include water contamination from leachate, air pollution from harmful gases like methane, soil degradation, and risks to human health, including respiratory problems and potential for explosive gas buildup. These hazards are compounded by the fact that historic landfills often lack modern containment measures and may be vulnerable to flooding, which increases the spread of contaminants.

impact on biodiversity:

contaminating soil and water with leachate, a liquid containing heavy metals and toxins that harms plants and animals.

-alief

problem:While the first step in improving recycling rates needs to be investment in municipal collecting and sorting, advanced recycling can help by complementing traditional recycling methods.

Traditional mechanical recycling is an excellent way to recycle clean plastics of a single type, like water bottles. However, it has difficulty removing oils, grease or food waste from the used plastic, so many food and oil-based product containers are discarded, usually to a landfill.

https://corporate.exxonmobil.com/what-we-do/materials-for-modern-living/A-different-way-to-handle-used-plastics?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=2025_all_id_corp_alwayson_em-corp-2025-01_product&utm_content=ar_phr&utm_term=plastic%20and%20recycling&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22646120363&gbraid=0AAAAAC_VlBuFR-bPtx8eX5at-Xak6hbLb&gclid=CjwKCAjw2vTFBhAuEiwAFaScwqt_ZQGpI3dQBmYs8MSf8YlEmekQsaHV1D8HVAMBNmCUDLaoSWkUZRoCH5UQAvD_BwE

explain:Maybe you’ve seen the video of a sea turtle with a plastic straw stuck in its nose, or the headlines about whales washing ashore with stomachs full of plastic. With so much plastic pollution floating in the ocean, it’s too easy for wildlife to mistake it for food — and too often, they pay the price with their lives. The good news is that more people, communities, states and companies are moving away from the single-use plastics we don’t even need.
