         <title>Using Skype with Another Classroom</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The students created mystery numbers that represented different aspects of our classroom. Then we used Skype to collaborate with a classroom at Daniel Wright Elementary to try to determine their mystery numbers while they worked on ours. This experience open our classroom walls to experience a larger community of learners. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Our learning community enjoys creating activities for each other. The students decided to use google forms to review concepts that they had previously learned. Then they used results to help them in the creation of individual learning goals. These forms helped them determine if there were concepts that they would like to review further.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <title>Explain Everything/Flip Grid</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Explain Everything (app) and Flip Grid (Website) have been used by several students in our classroom. If a student would like to explain their thinking or is having a difficult time getting their thoughts down on paper they can use these resources to record their work. Explain Everything has a screencast option so students who prefer to not be on camera tend to use this option. While Flip Grid records short videos where the students can record their thoughts. </div>]]></description>

By having the students complete quick formative assessments I have been able to be more responsive to what individual students need. This has allowed me to focus on student learning based upon the data that is shown. This has been very beneficial when working with small groups.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I was awarded a grant from our PTO that helped with creating a flexible learning environment. While the grant supported different furniture purchases, the work began with creating a student centered learning environment. Through constant communication with the instructional coaches (Lynsey Burkins, Abby Farris, Mckenzie Zimmerman and Heather Halli), I was able to focus my learning on becoming a more responsive teacher and creating a flexible learning environment. Meeting with the coaches bi-weekly to focus on this has allowed me to create an environment where the students participate in the decision making process. They decide what/where we put things on the walls, where they sit (based on what works well for them), and they are able to reorganize the classroom space based upon their needs. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Ever Changing Time with Coaches</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I have been lucky enough to work with coaches to support my professional goals and to become a more responsive educator. The first year of coaching, my professional focus was on dissecting the standards and observing components of the math workshop by watching the coaches. This allowed me to gain a better understanding of the fourth grade content. I was also able to learn new strategies to help my learners. The next year our focus was on co-teaching. This year gave me more confidence to try things and move away from lessons that I had done from years past. This also allowed me to work with a fellow educator to plan for my individual students. This last year of coaching has allowed me to focus on using student data to inform instruction. I have been using more formative data to support differentiation. The coaching model has been a great opportunity for me to have individuals to plan with, someone to help support the learners in my classroom and have someone who pushes me to step out of my comfort zone through presenting. I have become a more confident teacher due to the support I have received from the coaching model.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
