Some advice and wisdom my mom always shares with me is to always, remain positive against all adversity and to have a strong faith in god.

My mother explained that her current view on society is that there is not a lot of equality between people; especially in the elder community. Less jobs, unfair treatment etc. (nothing she has experienced herself) but has seen it first hand with someone close to her.

Impactful Story/memory

At the age of 20 years old, my mother worked as a secretary for a police department in her small hometown in Sonora Mexico, here she experienced a situation that has caused trauma. An armed individual walked into the police department in the office where my mother was working and shot at her but luckily missed. This is something that impacted my mother so much that she had to go to therapy for many years; now she is able to talk about this with ease and has moved on from this impactful situation.
