Putting up the learning objectives for our lesson at the beginning of the class and explaining what we are going to learn about today.
showing us some very useful websites to use for placement and when we go out teaching. By going through the website it allowed me to see how different sources are very helpful and easily accessible.
Working in pairs to discuss/answer questions about what we already know about enquiry based learning worked very well. As it allowed him to gauge on our prior knowledge and was a good recap for everyone in the class.

I learned that it is good to have the learning objectives on a small whiteboard at the top of the class or on a powerpoint. This allows the students to take control of their own learning as they can gauge their own learning by checking off what learning objectives they have achieved after the class.
I learned that we should use lots of action verbs when teaching especially when posing questions to get students familiar with them.
I learned about the advantages and disadvantages of enquiry based learning and how it is known as active learning.
I learned some methods of keeping students on task especially when doing group work. By walking around the classroom and asking questions about the task. Also by using names to keep control of the class.
I learned that you should allow students to make mistakes os they can learn from them. Also science is all about discovery so allow students to discover the beauty of science.
I learned the importance of reflecting on your lesson and how much you can learn from reflecting.

I would like to try the idea of placing the page with photos of the experiment on each desk to get the class going once they get into class. By giving them this resource card it allows students to work independently without the help of the teacher however their learning is guided by the resource card.
Using group roles to keep students on task and also make them feel a sense of importance.
