The second person Daniel met was Ali. He met Ali on the beach when he was with Freddy and his friends. He stands up for her when Johnny takes her radio and that's how Daniel and Johnny got into a fight. Johnny ends up being an enemy to Daniel Larusso, so does the rest of Cobra Kai dojo.

In the last fight of the Tournament, Daniel has to compete against Johnny. Daniel thinks if he doesn't go out to fight Johnny that they are going to think they got the best of him so even though he got his leg hurt by another Cobra Kai he still chose to go out there and compete against Johnny. Daniel won the All Valley Tournament/Championships.
