How has Alibaba digitalized grocery shopping experience.<br>- Alibaba’s Hema supermarkets has digitalized the grocery shopping experience through one way, the usage of a mobile app. The mobile app created by the company has enabled their customers to purchase items from the supermarket with just a few tap on their mobile phones. Would you like to know some information about the product on the shelf, want some recommended product based on your preferences or do you want your item delivered to you? This can all be done with the app. The app has made it a lot easier for the customers to go grocery shopping compared to the past where grocery shopping was considered a time consuming activity.<br>2. Having listened to Alibaba, read up on Amazon and state any similarities or differences between Alibaba and Amazon.<br>a) Similarities:</div><div>- Alibaba and Amazon have the same objective which is to create a more simple way for customers to purchase items just through the use of an app. Besides online services, both companies provide services for customers who would like to purchase their product in retail. For example, Alibaba’s Hema supermarkets and Amazon Go.<br>b) Differences:<br>- Although both Alibaba and Amazon are in the e-commerce business, they both have some differences when it comes to their business model. For one, Alibaba is a marketplace meaning they don’t own the inventory sold. They instead connect buyers and sellers together and eventually agree on terms online. Meanwhile, Amazon main business is they own the inventory sold and they directly sell it to the customers. Furthermore, Alibaba and Amazon targets different market place. Alibaba presences is mostly in their homeland which is China. Amazon in the other hand has a massive presences in the international market especially in Europe and the US which is their homeland.<br>3. Based on the video, Hema stores are fully powered by mobile app. The mobile app allows customers to search the details of the products and records the purchases and browsing habits of the customers. It can also allow their customers make payments by using Alipay. Besides, the mobile app allows customers to shop and make their order without going to the stores. <br>2. After having listened to the short videos of Alibaba and Amazon Go, I discover that they are using the mobile app to digitalise their stores. They have in-store restaurants so shoppers can select live seafood and eat on the spot.Online shoppers receive free delivery within 30 minutes. The combination of a user-friend app and barcodes on all items provides merchandise information, including sourcing, brand heritage, price points and nutritional value. In a country that's becoming a wallet-free society, you can purchase with Alipay, the Alibaba-affiliated digital payment system that has over 520 million users.<br>2) While both Alibaba and Amazon collect data from consumers who use their marketplaces as a place to make purchases, the end result behind the data could not be more different. Amazon famously does not share data with third-party sellers or brands as Amazon wants to generate revenue and compete with their partners. Alibaba, on the other hand, shares this data with brands to empower them to make more sales on the Alibaba platform. In its most basic form, Amazon acts as a retailer whilst Alibaba acts a platform. If you don't want to take the product home by yourself, they can deliver it for you in a very fast way. All of these are enabled by technology. The locations of the stores are also based on big data analysis of the neighborhood: what type of people are living there, and what's their online behavior. So they can decide the best location to open the stores.The offer to cook and prepare the fresh produce and seafood is a different experience. In restaurants, some of the ingredients may not be so fresh, but in Hema, people can watch them prepare and cook the fresh ingredients you just bought. However, there are also differences between Alibaba and Amazon. In Alibaba’s Hema, they have a system where consumers need to checkout if they want to pay for their groceries comparing to Amazon Go, consumers only need to check in through an app to do any grocery shopping in the store. Alibaba created an app to let consumers buy things online that is super convenient. Consumers can get fresh food from the grocery at home using the app for delivery services and pay online. For safety reasons, Alibaba also added details of the products so that you know where does it come from. How has Alibaba digitalized grocery shopping experience.<br>     Hema, a chain of supermarkets owned by Alibaba Group, have changed people with their shopping experience. Hema created mobile apps just to ease shoppers’ experience when they are shopping in the supermarket or at home. Shoppers’ can purchase items anywhere and deliver to anywhere they wanted using the mobile apps created. In store, when shoppers’ have any questions about the product they are getting, they can scan the QR code on the price tag with the mobile apps and the information about the product will be shown on the apps. <br><br></div><div>2. Having listened to Alibaba, read up on Amazon and state any similarities or differences between Alibaba and Amazon.<br><br></div><div>The two ecommerce titans have many features in common. A major portion of Amazon’s revenue comes from electronic products and merchandise and digital media content. On the other hand, Alibaba operates on a number of ecommerce sites aimed at different types of sellers. Alibaba’s Taobao is one of Alibaba group’s most profitable marketplaces and is responsible for more than 80% of Alibaba’s sales. Even though the mode of operation of both companies looks similar at first glance, they are quite different. Alibaba isn’t involved in direct sales and does not own any warehouses like Amazon. They simply help small businesses and branded manufacturers reach consumers. Amazon operates on a managed online platform that looks similar to a traditional store but stays online. It exercises control over customer experience. Alibaba looks profitable, but the company is facing strong barriers in finding new customers and adapting to new economies.          <description><![CDATA[<div>1. How has Alibaba digitalized grocery shopping experience.<br><br>In this new era, people around the world are developing the way they are doing business along with the improvement in technology. Alibaba is one of it. One example that we are going to talk about is<em> Hema,</em> a digitized supermarket brought by this big company in China. Basically, the store is helping their customers in  ease of shopping. The matter that they focus on is about how to make people buy their stuffs even though at the same time they are lazy to go out and lining up to pay at cashiers. In <em>hema </em>customers can buy their stuffs only by scanning and pay it through their smartphone with the barcode that provided and then they can just leave the item until a worker will bring it to a machine that located at the ceiling of the store, and later on it will guide them to a delivery system which in the end the item will be arrived at the buyers home, that simple.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>2. Having listened to Alibaba, read up on Amazon and state any similarities or differences between Alibaba and Amazon.<br><br>Not only in China, another superpower country, America, has its own "Big Shot", and Amazon is the one. After i read and watched few articles and videos related to Amazon, i concluded that the way it does the business is pretty similar with Alibaba. It has its own kind of supermarket where the company provides an application so people can scan and pay through online in the shop. With many workers who's ready to help customers whenever they face any problem with their program, or even to prevent any irresponsible buyer who can do any unbelievable action any time. However, from the progress we can see that Amazon still facing some problem with their own system compared to Alibaba. Amazon grocery store even still requires people to bring their own stuffs while Alibaba doesn't. The major difference that we can see is the market capitalization between both of companies. Alibaba tend to widen their market across China first and on the other hand Amazon just directly spreading their wing across the globe.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Alibaba have come out a new digitalized grocery shopping, called Hema. With this innovation, customers can buy their daily grocery when ever they want through Hema application. In the app, the customers can choose various types of groceries they want, from the fresh vegetables to different kind of beverages, customers can even find seafoods in it. One of the reason customer choose to buy their grocery in Hema is, Hema provides the freshest vegetables and milk every day, all fresh goods are being prepared on the current day. If the customers have any questions on the products, they can easily get their answer by just scanning the product, those information about the product will immediately come out through the app. When the customers are done their shopping, they will pay their bills by using Ali pays, this payment method do not require any cash or credit card, it connected to their bank account and bill straight deduct from their bank account. For the couch potatoes or the busy workers, they can purchase their grocery without being present in the Hema warehouse. This is because Hema provides direct delivery to the customers, they can deliver the goods within 30 minutes after they check out from their cart, this saves a lot of time and energy. Hema have help the citizens to live a more convenient and modern life. <br><br>The similartities between Hema and Amazon Go is they are cashier-less in their shopping, the customer doesnt need to que up and pay their groceries. Other than that, the pay their bills by their respectively oline payment method, they do not need to pay their bills by using cash. On the other side, the difference between both companies are Hema provides direct delivery service to the customers, but Amazon doesnt have that service.
