Bank betrays Linn and she gets called to the principal´s office. There, she is told that she had lost her scolaprship because of cheating on the exam.
Cheating does not do any good: The fact that cheating does not do any good is reflected in this example because Linn loses the great opprtunity that she had to study without paying. She would have helped her father a lot without being a financial burden, but instead and because of cheating, she loses her advantage. At the end, cheating did a lot more damage than it did good.
Desperate times call for desperate measures: Bank was also in a difficult financial position so he looks for a desesperate way of winning the scolarship. Bank looked for a way to get what he wants at all costs: he creates a plan and betrays Linn, acusing her of cheating on the test.

Bank was caught cheating on the STIC test in Sydney and banned from taking the test ever again after being questioned.
Does intelligence = successful In the film, Bank is seen as a very intelligent and focused young man, but throughout the film, he changes his behavior and allows himself to be manipulated by money. In spite of his intelligence, money blinded him and led him to make bad decisions, causing the lost of many academic opportunities. Supervisors caught him cheating and was denied the opportunity to enter a university. This is a clear example that although he was intelligent, his success was not assured because it also depended on the decisions he made along the way.
Money cannot buy everything In the scene, Bank, after the first section of the test, demands a higher amount of money to provide the answers, which denotes his ambition. However, this did not serve him well because he ended up being caught. This also led him to fail his exam and lose all the academic opportunities that it possessed.

Lynn is at the pool with her friend Grace and her boyfriend, this is where Grace comments on how Lynn helped with her exam to get better grades. This is when Grace's boyfriend asked Lynn if she would do the same for his friends now that she will get paid.

Desperate times calls for desperate measures

We can relate this prompt to this scene on how Lynn accepts the offer because she needed money to help her father through difficult economic times. Even though she needed the money, she didn't realize that she was doing something bad. She thought it was a time she could take advantage due to her desperation to find a way to solve her problems without thinking of the consequences. Lynn makes a decision that helped her but not the others.

Money moves the world

In the scene, Lynn thought it was a bad idea, but after knowing how much money she was going to make, she accepted cheating for money. She considered that with money she was going to solve all her problems and live in a better way. However, she was focussed on herself and on her dad. When she realized it was bad, she had already lost control of the situation, which came to bad consequences for her and made her realize that money wasn't it all.

Do we choose our own values or are they instilled in us ?

According to the movie we can say that our values are instilled in us by our parents at the beginning. In Bad Genius we can see that the good values that Linn had were planted by her father. Nevertheless, as we grow up, we start to adopt the values that we observe in our environment, like Linn did. She started to be dishonest and her father never instilled that antivalue on her because he was a teacher. Finally, we can say that when we are kids the values are instilled by our parents, but with the time it is us who decide if we keep them or if we let society influence in us.
