I chose this book snap because I think it shows a lot in a little amount of words it says " Eddie coughed up something he did not want to see." I think this shows that he is getting old without directly saying it I think he coughed up blood! Another thing in this section was him talking about Marguerite and I think this is foreshadowing for the future of this book

this snap was the other end of the foreshadowing of the car key that was lost in one of the side stories. I couldn't believe that this goes to show the lesson that the blue man taught Eddie that everything was connected.

this snap was confusing to me when I first read this page because I didn't know why or how he was at the amusement park and why it looked like it was soo old. then once I realized it was from when he was a kid I thought that made sense because when you go to heaven its your ideal life. and then once we meet the blue man it all made sense.

this is the first part of foreshadowing it was seemingly nothing and it made you ask yourself why they were including this in the book. then once you read alittle bit more you realize that it was because this is the way he dies. it also ties to the theme that nothing happens for no reason and that there is a point in everything that happens.

this book snaps shows the brutal lessons of war that Eddie had to learn while serving the country. I chose it because I think it was good character development and these are all part of the reason Eddie is the way he is.

I chose this because to me it was interesting. Eddie probably didn't think anyone cared for him when in reality people really did care for him and this passage shows it when Dominguez comes in to work while the pier is closed and says things like it was quieter then it usually was and he skipped his usual routine.

this snap is the exact lesson captain was trying to teach Eddie about sacrifices. sacrifice is shown when captain tells Eddie that he is the reason eddies leg has been messed up for his whole life. we find out that captain shot Eddie back in war. that was captains biggest sacrifice. he waited for Eddie to get to heaven in order to shake Eddie's hand and bring him peace.

this snap demonstrates the key lesson that Ruby is trying to teach Eddie. the lesson being forgiveness Ruby believes in forgiveness and that Eddie should forgive his dad for what he had done or what he has not done for Eddie. " Forgive Eddie Forgive." this is what Ruby says to Eddie displaying that the lesson is forgiveness.

this snap shows that Eddie cares about his dad but doesn't show it. I think when Eddie knows exactly his dads age it means he thinks about him more then we are shown. " 56 Eddie said blankly." this abrupt interruption of the old lady I think shows that Eddie really remembers his dad vividly.

Eddie doesn't understand his new life and wants his old one back but the people he meet cant understand why due to the lack of pain and hurting. Eddie doesn't even recall his own death and he really wants to know if he saved the little girls life. but when he says he cant remember if he saved her and all he remembers is dying but then Ruby says not dying passing away, moved on. I think that shows that there is more after death.

this snap shows the questioning people have about heaven I genuinely wonder what heaven will look like all the time. while Eddie's there he questions why no one is answering and if they can hear him. " why cant my father hear me" said Eddie. " because his spirit is safe and sound." Ruby replied. I think this shows a lot but a little. it doesn't answer Eddie's questions.

this is a really sad part of the movie showing how sadness is still a thing in heaven and how maybe not everything is perfect in heaven for Eddie.

On page 173 of The Five People You Meet in Heaven, the story talks about how important it is to forgive and understand others. From my point of view, this page was really meaningful because it shows that even when something bad happens, it can still lead to something good. It made me think about how everyone’s life is connected and how the things we do can affect other people, even if we don’t know it. The message on this page is that we should try to let go of anger and forgive, because it helps us feel better and brings peace. I think this part of the book is special because it teaches an important life lesson in a simple but powerful way.

On page 188, Eddie meets Tala, the fifth person in Heaven. She tells him that she was the little girl who died in the fire during the war something Eddie never knew he caused. At first, Eddie is heartbroken and full of guilt. But Tala gently helps him understand that even though he made a terrible mistake, he made up for it by spending his life keeping children safe at Ruby Pier. This moment helps Eddie realize that his life had meaning and that he made a difference, even if he didn’t always see it.
