The puritans were a group of religious people developed in the 1530s. King Henry Vll made it possible when he transformed the Church of Rome into the Church of England. They called themselves "nonseparating congregationalists", believed the Church of England was a true Church. By others, they were viewed as hypocrites, slavishly followed their Bibles.

https://www.history.com/topics/colonial-america/puritanism

Mostly everyone was charged money of practicing witchcraft.
https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/a-brief-history-of-the-salem-witch-trials-175162489/

Respected minister Cotton Mather was not directly involved in the trials, but he was part of the trials. He wrote a letter to one of the people who directed the Salem Witch Trials, cautioning the use of Spectral Evidence. He also hanged a former prime minister George Burroughs who was alive during the time.
http://salem.lib.virginia.edu/people/c_mather.html

Robert Pike was one of the few people living during the time that was against the trials.

One of the most known plays for presenting the salem Witch trials is called The Crucible. The Crucible is a play written by Arthur Miller and his play shows how the Salem Witch Trials began and how the Puritans lived back then. It has been known as a classic.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Crucible

A book was written during that time. It was named " A Modest Enquiry into the Nature of Witchcraft" and was written by Reverend Hale. She was the husband of John Hale, who was one of the main ministers of the trial. Her book was about how the Salem Witch Trials were wrong and about her opinion of the trial. Her book wasn't published until 1702.
https://people.ucls.uchicago.edu/~snekros/Salem%20Journal/Aftermath/GraceT.html

Robert Pike wrote a letter to Judge Jonathan Corwin about using Spectral Evidence in the trials. In the letter, Robert argues to the judge that using Spectral Evidence isn't reliable and that it may not be real about the visions the victims had.
http://historyofmassachusetts.org/salem-witch-trials-primary-sources/
