Some types of fossils are mold fossils, trail fossils and etc. Fossils can be found underground, forests, caves. Fossils are made by a animal or plant that died and was buried underground near bodies of water. Organisms that can become fossils are plants, animals, and every living thing that later on died.

Fossils are remains of once living things, such as animals and plants. How they form: Over millions of years, the deceased organism gets covered up by layers and layers of sediment. The layers then harden, forming a cast around the figure. A leaf can leave it's imprint in the layers, showing the skeletal structure of the once alive organism. The fossils are liable to break apart, to decompose, and sometimes archaeologists only find one or two remains of the original figure. Archaeologists are a type of scientist that studies fossils.
