Henry Fayol identifies the five functions of management, “To manage is to forecast and plan, to organize, to command, to coordinate, and to control. To foresee and provide means examining the future and drawing up the plan of action. To organize means building up the dual structure, material, and human, of the undertaking. To command means maintaining activity among the personnel. To coordinate means binding together, unifying, and harmonizing all activity and effort. Finally, to control means seeing that everything occurs in conformity with established rule and expressed command.” These functions of management speak measures. I used these functions in a meeting and gave my manager I've hired a clear view.

In module 2 under Philanthropy, Nu Skin, a personal-care company, developed a charity called Nourish the Children, which allows leaders, employees, and customers to donate nutrient-rich meals to children around the world. From 2002, when the program began, to 2017, people have donated more than 500 million meals through the program. By reading this section, gave me confirmation to start a foundation with my partners, employees, and clients. I will like to serve women that suffered abusive relationship, carry low self-esteem, and experience terrible life situations. I will like to give them a free make over and give them the resources to a better life.

By having all Apple products, by reading under "Reduced manufacturing costs through access to cheaper labor," I found out that Apple has the iPad and iPhone assembled in China by contractor Foxconn. At the same time, parts for the devices are made in more than 20 different countries. This reminded me to work smarter, not harder, with my product line. This is why Apple continues to come out with new products quickly and charge an arm and a leg and make a significant profit.
