Promoting social cohesion in Singapore involves collective efforts. One impactful way is through intergenerational bonding. One way is that every year Singaporeans celebrate Racial Harmony Day and during the celebration , we are encouraged to wear traditional costumes of other races or our own race. Our school also has this 'snack trying' where we can try out the different traditional snacks and learn more about it. By doing this , we can strengthen our bond with others and understand each others races better and to not judge before knowing/understanding their different background.

Some ways we can do that is by fostering harmony between the different races and uphold peace.We can do so by forming social bonds for example during different ethnicity celebrations we can send for example during chinese new year we can send the malays or indians pineapple tarts or foods relating to the celebration. Therefore, this can lead to less conflict and misunderstanding between one another and reduction of tension.They can then have less fights and quarrels and can live in a harmonious and vibrant community in Singapore

Singaporeans can contribute to fostering social cohesion by having a racial harmony event to everyone held at a community centre as only schools participate in this event and the adults should experience it too as through there , they get to understand the different cultures of others through the festive foods suchas a traditional local dish. This can strengthen their bonding session with one another and is able to reduce conflict riots to one another.

Since Singapore is a multi-racial and multi-religious society, harmony does not come naturally as we need to take the effort to build trust, and acceptance between different races and religions, and protect the common space that we have to show respect to one another.

This is in reference to Extract 1 which explains that People tend to bond with those who are similar to them, which can cause a fault line in society. This means that the problem is that people aren't willing to bond with those different from them, so the solution is simply by promoting the mixing of different races, religions, and nationalities. This would help to slowly erase the fault line and hence help to advertise social cohesion.

In my opinion, fostering social cohesion starts with something very fundamental – the idea of fostering contact and interaction between people of different backgrounds.
