My mother and father fairly equally weighs their opinions on each other and will not back down if they have differing ideas. They try to find a middle ground, but can sometimes become divided on different ideas on the correct idea. In my family, we listen to the stories and advice of the elderly, but use what they say with a grain a salt, considering our own experiences and deciding on the value of what is said. There are, in my and my families, flaws in the ideas of our elders so we have to take that in consideration when they state their ideas. I can't exactly remember bias towards my interests development, but for my sister, I do know there was a bit of bias in giving her handed down dolls and introducing her to other girls when she was young. As she developed and gained her own identity, just like me, they supported our interests and tried to help us do what we enjoyed. They commonly help and support each other, which is really great emotionally and I think family is something that is pretty much to humans biologically. I do think that there are different forms of family due to differences in structures supporting the families.
