Pikachu originates from the Pokemon World, set in the Pokemon universe. It has many striking similarities with the real world, but the Pokemon World is based on Japanese culture. Pokemon and its main mascot character Pikachu was first created by Arceus, a Pokegod. Based on legends, Arceus came from an unhatched egg from a vortex of complete chaos. Then, Arceus created other legendary Pokemons to help create the Pokemon World, leading to the creation of normal Pokemons. The Pokemon Franchise took over Japan through the Nintendo Game Boy System on February 27th, 1996. The original creator of Pokemon was Satoshi Tajiri, who developed the story of Pokemon and released it through animation, manga, and game consoles. Pokemon was created simply enough as a hobby of Tajiri, who as a child had interests in catching insects and tadpoles near his home in Tokyo. Tajiri decided to put his ideas of catching creatures into practice, to give children the same thrills he had as a child.

Once upon a time, there lived a Scientist in a country. He always tries to invent something which would make the lives of common people easier. 

By the time, the scientist became older and older. Now he wanted someone who would help him in his inventions. He asked the king of that country to send a person who would help him. The king replied that “Tomorrow two teenagers would go towards your house, then you will decide whom you will keep as a helper”. 

After that day truly two teenagers came and the scientist welcomed them. Both of them were  the same age and both of them have equal knowledge. The scientist was confused which of them should he keep as a helper. Thus, he decided to take a test on them. Whoever will pass in the test, he will be the helper of that scientist. The scientist giving them a container of chemicals said that “These containers contain chemicals, whoever will make a useful appliance from them, he will win and will be selected as my helper”. He also gave them a period of one day for the test. Both of the teenagers went on receiving the container.

 On the way one of the teenagers saw a poor old man near a tree. Nobody was helping him. He felt pity on him and he took him to his home. He then started to serve him. He gave him food, water etc. By this he about his test. After that day, both of them came into the scientist’s house. The teenager who forgot about the test was sad. The scientist asked the reason for his sadness.

He told about the reason of his sadness. Then the scientist checked the appliance made by the second teenager. He found that his appliance is very useful and also easy to use. Now the scientist was going to announce the winner of the test.

Then he replied that the winner of the test is the boy who had forgotten to make an appliance. After hearing this, the king was surprised. He then asked the reason for why the boy is the winner, although he hadn’t done anything. The scientist replied that “The boy who served the poor and forgot to make any appliance is the actual winner because I invent things in order to help people and make their life easier. The boy who doesn’t know how to help then how he will be my helper”. The king now understood.

After that day, the teenager was selected as a helper of that scientist.

 

Moral: One shouldn’t work only for his own; he should work for his own as well as for others.

About the Author: Born in Kasauli, 1934, Ruskin Bond grew up in Jamnagar, Dehradun, New Delhi. When he was of the seventeenth, he wrote his first novel, The room on the roof.He received the John Llewellyn Rhys Memorial Prize in 1957 for this Novel. He had written more than 500 short stories, essays and novels and more than 40 books for children.

He received the Sahitya Academy Award for English writing in India in the year 1992, the Padma Shri in 1999 and Padma Bhushan in 2014.

Suggestion: I would recommend everybody to read this book. This book would teach us about Friendship, courage and survival. This stunning edition will introduce another lot of young readers to the magic of Ruskin Bond’s craft. 

“Let’s go”, cried Amit as they are going for hiking. “Just wait, let me find my shoes and some necessary things needed during hiking”, protested grandpa. “Are there any things necessary during hiking, Grandpa?”, Amit asked in curiousness. “Yes, of course. Why not? Like the first aid kit required in case of any injury during hiking, water bottles and food”. Amit nodded.

Amit went on. Decided to call some of his friends for the hiking. Maya, Kushal, Amit’s friends; he, his grandpa went for the hiking in the hills.

Grandpa told about his experience on hiking. He told when he was of just 7 years old, he learned hiking. There, they reached almost half of their journey, decided to take a break. Amit and his friends played together in the place.

“Come here quickly, see this”, cried Kushal as he has found something strange. Amit and Maya came. There they saw a very old car lurking with dust and algae. 

Amit peeked inside the car. “Nothing only dust and broken parts”, he said. They returned from playing.

“Let’s continue our journey”, Grandpa said. They went on. Reaching at their aim, they sat up together for lunch. 

Finally, they returned from hiking. Already it was evening. Nothing was visible clearly. Fearful Maya said “I’m afraid, its already night”. “Don’t fear we shall reach home very soon” Grandpa said giving her confidence.

Exactly at that place, where the abandoned old dusty car was there, they could hear a strange noise. Amit saw a flash of light from the car. Their heart was in their mouth. After sometime they reached home. “What a relief! We all were afraid”. Amit said. 

But what was the noise? Was it just a sound of wind or something else? What was the flash of light? Was it just an eye risk or something stranger like ghosts?

Nobody can answer!
