One common theme in the books is oppression

At the start of the book, Animal Farm, the animals are being cared for by farmer Jones, who was often drunk and who forgot to feed them one too many times. The animals, after breaking the food shed down and eating, threw Jones off the farm, becoming the only farm that was completely ruled by animals. The pigs took the role of leaders on the newly remanaged farm. After a while, one pig in particular took control. This pig, whose name is Napoleon, started to turn the farm into a totalitarian government, with him in charge. He began to overwork and starve the rest of the animals that weren't pigs or dogs. After a few years of this, the condition of the workforce drastically worsened to that of when they were under Jones' supervision.

Animal Farm is a good book. It is a simple book written to convey a deeper meaning to the common people of the world. This was a prediction of what Russia would become if it continued with the communist government it was practicing. It had many characteristics that represented the different stereotypes of a society. The book showed the evils of communism to the people in a way they could understand. This shows that Orwell knew human nature was broken and flawed. With this knowledge, he was able to make an accurate prediction on how the ruling in the russian government would go.

The books Animal Farm and Fahrenheit 451 have some things in common and many differences. One of the main things that they have in common is that they both revolve around figures coming to power and generally making life worse than it was before. In Animal Farm, Napoleon and the pigs made it so that the other farm residents became overworked and starved. While in Fahrenheit 451, the government made life so meaningless that the people had become shallow and void of emotion. One main reason that they are different is the fact that Fahrenheit 451 used animals as symbols instead of actually having animals as characters. Fahrenheit 451 had the mechanical hound, which was used in the same way that the hounds in Animal Farm were. They were both used as a form of enforcers. The hounds raised by Napoleon were used to back the disastrous decrease of the pigs. While the mechanical hound of Fahrenheit 451 was only deployed when someone had done anything to show the evils of the corrupted government of that world. Both books are good examples of books being used to get an idea into the hearts and minds of us humans.
