  • Qing dynasty was initially a very strong government, but by the beginning of 1900, when the western allies invaded, they began to grow weaker and weaker because the Western allies took over their resources and the Chinese ports. There was also a huge increase in population, which did not help. Therefore, the government could no longer provide for their people. This was also due to lack of land (bc of western allies)
