Drugs affect your brain in many ways. Drugs give a sense of dopamine, which is produced naturally to be signal the pleasure signal. When you take drugs, extra dopamine is released to connect to more receptors, making more pleasure for you. As you continue to use the drug, you start to lose pleasure receptors which means that in order to give yourself the pleasure sensation, you need to take the drugs in order to satisfy that.
