Violence is one of the serious matters nowadays, affecting people of all ages, races, genders and sexual orientations. The concept of domestic violence is based on power and control. It is important to understand that violence involves destructive consequences to the men as the victims even though violence against men case is lesser rather than violence against women.

Effects on Victims.
Generally, the effects of domestic abuse against men are the same as it is against women and they can be very long-lasting. It is possible for the victims to suffer from physical injuries such as bruises, cuts, joint damage and broken bones.Cascardi et al. (1992) found that 2% of the men who reported experiencing minor or severe abuse reported suffering broken bones, broken teeth, or injury to a sensory organ. Similarly, Makepeace (1986) found that 2.2% of the males in his sample of 2,338 students reported sustaining a moderate or severe physical injury as a result of the dating violence they experienced. Emotionally, the victims will have lack of trusts in others or even in themselves and agonize with depression(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2006). Besides, mental health problems such as anxiety and panic attack are other effects on the act of domestic abuse(The Ripple Effect, 2002). Stets and Straus (1990) found that 1% of the men who reported being severely assaulted needed medical attention (National Family Violence Survey,1985)

Effects on Family Members.
The family members of the victims might also be affected by the tragedy. The family members, especially the children who witness the violence are more likely use violence at school or in the community to "protect" themselves from threat. The generational theory of abuse states that males and females that who either experience abuse or witness violence or both in their childhood are more likely to become involved in violent relationships when they become adults. Other than that, they might take d r u g s and use it as a reason to escape from their miserable life they're living. Another unfortunate scenario that can occur is they might develop abusive behaviour and grow up being a thug or bully which might affect not only their future but also the society.

Can though masculine man be abused?

(introduction )
Male violence is a lack of control by a women who believes they can practise dominance though humiliating, manipulating and controlling male, to get them to fear them or respect them. Depending on the nature of a relationship, men can be abused by a female or male partner. Generally, domestic abuse can be physically or emotionally and anyone can be a victim.

When I first learned about violence, I thought that it was something that only happened to women that was brought on by a male. Growing up, one doesn't hear about male victims. It was unheard of.

The appaling steep in reports is likely only at the tip of iceberg, which associated with male victims. There is a growing concern of increased number of male victims of brutality.

There were 650 cases of domestic violence against men reported in 2010, 815 cases in 2011, and 930 cases in 2012. It is believed that the actual figure is higher as many domestic violence cases against men go unreported due to a culture of shame, fear of facing social stigma or emasculation, or even major legal obstacles. adapted from (the star online -domestic violence act also protect male victims by Syed Azhar) (22 mac 2017)

Why are men kept silent when it comes to violence and abuse? It might be caused of there is a societal impression, that men are supposed to take care of themselves. Masculinity is also a set of guidelines we've imposed upon men as a consequence of culture and history. We've created a masculine ideal preventing men from being true to themselves.

And we haven't just stopped there. Traditional perceptions of masculinity have continued to foster the idea male dominance is the "natural order" of the world. As a result, gender roles are holding men back.

Men are supposed to be stronger than women. If they are unable to do so and are abused, then it is not uncommon for people to blame the man becoming a victim instead of helping him out.

There is a need for the society to recognize that abuse is illegal and immoral. We blame the media and some support groups for the lack of awareness of male abuse. This is clearly an unknowledged crisis, and it’s time to start a national awareness for areal men’s issue.

Many people believe that a man has the strength, firm, and respected. The authorities also emphasizes cases involving women. For example, it is assume that a man with a bruise or black eye was in a fight with another man or was injured on the job or playing contact sports. Even when men do report domestic abuse and violence, most people are so astonished men usually end up feeling like nobody believes them.

Wife having

Psychological Disorder

There are certainly physhological problem, primarily personality disorders, in which women are characterictically abusive and violent towards men. Borderline personality disorder is a diagnosis that is found almost exclusively with women. Based on Kristalyn Salters, women are far more likely to be diagnosed with Borderline personality disorder than men. In fact, about 75% of people diagnosed with Borderline personality disorder are women. they are higly sensitive to rejection, reacting with anger.

As we know, majority of domestic violence victims are women . But abuse of men happens far more often than you might expect. Domestic violence experts offer advice for men who may be falling through the cracks. (Help for battered men)

When dealing with abusive partners :
Leave if possible.
