Traditional Games Padlet Activity (01–15 March):
This activity allows students to learn about different cultures while also sharing their own culture.
Within the 2026 theme, it is directly related to fostering cultural responsibility and awareness.
In addition, students’ safe and responsible use of digital tools supports the theme’s focus on digital responsibility.

The Story of a T-Shirt Webinar & Activities (15–30 March):
Focusing on sustainable fashion and environmental awareness, this activity helps students understand the importance of protecting nature, using resources efficiently, and developing recycling habits.
It is directly linked to the 2026 theme of environmental awareness and sustainable living skills.
Home interviews, creative reuse activities, and the environmental manifesto contribute to developing students’ personal and social responsibility.

In March, the FRIENDS project activities give students practical learning experiences that touch on many areas:

Cultural Awareness:
During the Traditional Games Padlet activity, students share games from their own countries and learn about games from other cultures. This helps them make new friends, communicate with peers from other countries, and develop respect and curiosity about different traditions.

Digital Skills and Safety:
By using Padlet and Canva, students practice presenting their ideas online. They also learn to use digital tools safely, which connects to the question about staying safe on the internet.

Environmental Awareness:
The Story of a T-Shirt webinar and creative reuse activities help students understand issues like water use, recycling, and sustainable living. Activities such as making a manifesto or turning old T-shirts into something new make the learning hands-on and meaningful.

Personal Development:
Students gain teamwork, problem-solving, creativity, and presentation skills. Webinars, home interviews, and reuse projects help them become more confident and responsible.

Practical Learning:
Students record videos, make presentations, do interviews at home, and share their ideas on Padlet or Kahoot. They can see the real results of their work and connect what they learn to everyday life.

Summary:
Overall, March activities help students build cultural understanding, environmental awareness, digital skills, and personal growth. They are practical, interactive, and fun, while also reflecting what students said they wanted from the project in the initial survey.

Here I am sharing the first two pages we created together. They include an image generated with artificial intelligence, based on all the words that make us think about nature, as well as the word “Friends” created through unplugged coding.

We then wrote:
“Being F.R.I.E.N.D.S. means being friends of nature and of the world we live in, through small actions that make a difference.”

We also met a new friend, Wall-E, artificial intelligence in the form of a small robot, who becomes a new companion to create and play together.

With all of your games I created a few flashcards to leave in the classroom for the children to play with during the breaks.

during our class discussion, many children shared beautiful and thoughtful ideas about helping nature and reducing waste. some children said that they give clothes they no longer use to friends, brothers, sisters, or other children who may need them. others explained that torn clothes can sometimes be repaired instead of thrown away.

the class also reflected on how reusing clothes can help save water and reduce pollution. some children suggested creating new objects from old materials, such as games, bags, or decorations, showing that waste can become something useful and creative.

many pupils spoke about the importance of donating clothes and helping less fortunate children. others remembered how, when they were younger, they tried to use their belongings for a long time instead of wasting them quickly.

together, the children concluded that every small action can help protect nature: reusing, repairing, sharing, donating, and recycling are important ways to care for our planet and for other people. 🌍✨

during these holidays, think about these questions and try to answer one of them… when we come back to school, we will reflect together!

It is a simple game where one player is chosen as “it” (the seeker). This player closes their eyes and counts aloud to a set number, while all the other players run away and hide. Once the counting is finished, the seeker tries to find all the hidden players. The game ends when everyone has been found, or sometimes when the first or last player is discovered, depending on the rules agreed by the group.

This approach allowed the pupils to better follow the content, clarify doubts immediately, and build a clearer understanding of the life cycle of a T-shirt and its environmental impact.

Afterwards they filled in worksheets explaining how to play them. This part of the activity was developed with the 5th graders' group and teacher BEatriz Fernández (while I was on sick leave).
