This would be a good book to read as at this age, drugs are a more prominent problem and this book would be good to make people aware of addiction. The book is an autobiography written by a father through his son’s addiction, which makes it more heartbreaking and real. Recommended for Year 10 and above. The first book describes a select group of girls that are exposed to opportunities of luxury, glamour and wealth through a series of classes that enable the girls to become proper ladies. Adelaide escapes her proposed arranged marriage to the Glittering Court so her dreams of new adventure and control of own destiny are fulfilled all whilst concealing who she really is. I highly recommend this book series as the elements touched on make it a real page turner! Recommended for Year 7 and above. More details available here.

It is narrated by Death and therefore offers a unique perspective into the events which unfold. Markus Zusak has written this book beautifully and there are moments in this book which may stay with you for a lifetime. Recommended for Year 7 and above. Find it in eLibrary.
