         <description><![CDATA[<div>0 Sponsoring arts organisations help fossil fuel companies improve their branding / reputation while accepting sponsorships from fossil fuel companies helps struggling or desperate organisations stay afloat. BP and SHell have made impacts on curatorial decisions in museums and security policies<br><br>0 Museums / these organisations don't care enough about climate change. When a mutually beneficial arrangement like above rolls around, they are likely (in the throes of desperation) to accept these donations. Even if these donors don't align with their values, or aren't necessarily ethical.&nbsp;<br><br>0 It is not possible tell arts organisations to not accept these donations. Legally, there are no ramifications to accepting funding from fossil fuel companies, so there are no deterrents to stop arts companies from accepting donations. So what really can be done?<br><br>0 There is also a lot of money in fossil fuels. If the arts doesn't take it, someone else will.&nbsp;<br><br>0 Arts organisations find it extremely difficult to secure funding. In their desperation, they turn to organisations like BP for funding. BUT if more industries understood the benefits and importance of donating to the arts, arts organisations will have more avenues to secure donations; and won't have to turn to companies like BP for donations. To rely less on corporations, a democratic and reliable funding model for the arts that stimulates creative free expression that is ethical is needed.&nbsp;<br><br><br><br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>
