The books will be given out at the community hall with some games and food hamper as prizes to follow. This will be happening for the afternoon from 1-5 PM, all school kids and parents are welcomed.

Baker Lake Daycare is excited to announce a colouring contest for all ages in school!


Daycare Staff will be handing out colouring sheets to the RA and JA school principles as well as to children who are attending Daycare. The contest will take place from February 25 to February 28, 2026.


One winner will be selected from each class, and each winner will receive $50 cash prize.

If you have any extra toys, books or clothes you can bring them to the Baker Lake Daycare between 5 and 6 pm. Whether they’re for infants, toddlers, children or adults we’ll be wrapping them up for Christmas and handing them out to those who may need it.


If you have any extra outdoor winter clothing as well for infants and toddlers we’ll keep those at the daycare for the kids who may need it for when we go on walks or to play outside

The Daycare is holding a winter clothing drive from ages newborn to 10 years old. If you have extra winter clothing, you can bring them to the Daycare (attach address) anytime from 8:15am to 4:45pm. Starting on November 17-21 of 2026.

This is going to help those children who do not have warm clothing. Once we have enough winter wear, we will have the Daycare open on Sunday November 28th at 10am to 4pm.

During the weekend of the Inlander’s Cup from April 2-5, 2026, we will be holding a 50/50 raffle sale at the arena in the rink. You can try your luck at winning 50/50 to help fundraise for the Baker Lake Daycare, all funds will go towards our future leaders of Baker Lake. We will start selling tickets on Thursday, April 2 at 5:00pm and we will have the draw on Sunday, April 5 after the gold medal game. The first ticket that’s drawn will win half of the pot. The tickets will be sold to adults ages 18 and over only. If you buy 5 tickets, you’ll get another 3 for free! Please support your daycare centre and all the future leaders of our community!

We are planning to take part of this event on January 25 to February 1 to ensure each child learns about how important it is to read and engage with families and friends; this helps build relationships and improve on children’s developmental skills. To begin, we will have 13 high school students come and read to our 13 children at the day care for 1 hour each day during this literacy week, at 10:45am to 11:45am. It would be a pleasure to see our high school students there!

Will be selling a whole lot of goodies, including goodie basket that we could deliver for a tip of $5, we will be fund racing for our new daycare to be able to get a van for the daycare facility..
