God has given His good creation, including culture, for us to manage with care, creativity and joy. </div><div><br>As writers and imitators of Christ, we will humbly engage with culture while also representing an alternative way of life in Christ. In the A column students should think of time recently when they encountered adversity or a challenging situation. In the B column they should record the beliefs that arose in response to the adversity and in the C column, students should record the consequences for those beliefs and what they did. <br><br>For example, In A a student might write 'got a low mark on a task'; in B they might write: 'I am bad in this subject'; and in C they might write: 'put in less effort, behave worse etc. <br><br>You can then get students to explore the emotional and behavioral consequences of falling in, climbing out of, or avoiding thinking traps </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The ABC model is in accord with what Scripture teaches. Paul, in the New Testament, teaches that the believer is a new creation in Christ, and therefore must adopt a new philosophy (cf. 2 Corinthians 5:16-17, Ephesians 4:22-</div><div>24). Paul’s letter to the Ephesians in chapter 4 talks of how one is to be made new in the attitude of the mind and how one is to put on the new self  and be like God. Furthermore, in Philippians 4:8 the Christian is told to think on whatever is right, noble, pure, lovely, and admirable. One is to think on these things. Scripture itself  emphasizes the importance of belief and of adopting new ways of thinking in order to counter  disturbance (Johnson, 2006).</div>]]></description>
