I know because according to the book  and the picture that I see it looks like the  continents could have once been joined.  And I also believe that because one mountain was found with the same dirt ,formation , and age. The same bones of a cynognathus where also found in different places but there was a huge sea in the middle of the continents and that animal  could have not swam that far.
