They were the cutest dogs and kittens. It challenged me to hear the animals past and how they lived. It's heart breaking to know that animals get abused in my own community. When you look into those big eyes, you can see how sad some of those animals were and it broke my heart. The rewards were seeing families come in and adopt a furry friend. I knew in my heart that they would be in good hands. You can see how much love and care they had for them. I wanted to take them all home with me but sadly I couldn't. Meet Prince a one year old six months German Shepard mix. This dog made his way straight to my heart. This dog and I connected so well. Always so playful and sweet. It's helped me by making me happier. Just knowing you're making an impact in and animals life is amazing. Even if its cleaning kennels or washing the doggy bowls, and organizing papers it's all making a difference. It has impacted me to stand up for our animals and be their voice and stop animal cruelty. Never held a baby duck before but he was rescued and nursed. I also helped out in the back where the magic happens. I learned how to power wash a kennel. I got to see where they have all the animals foods. I saw when they would bring a new animal to the shelter. Also I got to see what I like to call "Doggy Jail". Basically it's a room with kennels and it has a door which locks. The dogs are in quarantine. They get put in here or attacks, bites. or fighting. They are left here for as long as the officers declares usually 3-4 days. This was just something fun and helpful to do. It teaches you that not every living thing has had it easy in life. Theres struggles and there are people out here willing to lend a helping hand. I was a helping hand to changes these animals lives even if it was a little impact on them. You learn so much and get a different outlook on life. Their goal is to help these animals feel better and create a healthy environment. Also the Animal Control helps rescue these animals of the streets and give them a temporary home and care. Meanwhile they find their owners. It's saving many animals lives. Also people that can't take care of their animals anymore have to choice to drop of their animal at the location just sign paper work and done. They are making sure that these animals are well taken care of.
