Angelina and Colin’s ALE emphasize the importance of having a healthy relationship with one’s body, which I think is very relevant to today’s world! Their digital fitness tracker idea would be interesting to integrate, if not a little tricky due to how it should/can be monitored. Hopefully, the kids wouldn’t feel too much pressure!

I really enjoyed Anthony’s- he had the students research and create their own timeline of US history. I think this can create a more comprehensive learning experience - Angelina

i really liked the ideas posed on faith’s presentation. Incorporating activities in and out of the classroom that are extremely beneficial to the students health as well as learning was so interesting !!

In Kyle’s Authentic Learning Plan the last day students will be visiting and begin planting in the garden with local seeds. This is collaborative because they will be doing it together, helping one another and over time praising one another for their work as a class! This can be included in my future classroom by allowing them to individually work on something that contributes to the whole classroom.

Taylor’s authentic assessment has students log their food intake for a week and further create a visual representation of their choices. This could definitely be an assessment used in a PE setting!

I love Anthony’s topic. I feel like students struggle most with the actual analysis related to literary works and simply read and not obtain or understand the information. Would love to encourage my students to learn to analyze correctly!

In Chloe’s, she had students create their own quizzes using Quizlet. I would use this in my own classroom so students can theorize what assessment questions will look like and can study.

I liked Kyle’s take on native plants or the la k thereof. This can help kids realize there are issues outside of the classroom! -angelina

I really enjoyed Faith’s authentic assessment, as they are very well-integrated with tech and should have the kids be mindful of their activities without stressing too much over it! The partner function would be interesting too, seeing how the kids would bounce off/encourage each other! I like that she included exactly what tech (presentation, video, etc.) in bullet points—makes it much easier to see/stands out!

I like Anthony's idea for the history classroom that allows students an opportunity to investigate plenty of primary sources and arrange them on a timeline. i like having students specifically go out of their way to make connections with historical information to construct understanding!

I think Colin and Angelina’s presentation was a great example of meaningfully integrating technology into the classroom. Taking a class that is usually centered around physical activity and using fitness trackers then collecting data to draw a conclusion makes the class much more engaging for students.

I love Colin and Angelina’s presentation. I like the authentic assessment as a personalized habit tracker of any sort is super helpful for students to identify their good or bad habits and learn from them.

Blair’s ALE integrated meaningful technology by her providing 7 different resources related to personal finance to help her students understand. She also included a jeopardy game to help them put into practice their new learned knowledge and making it more interesting to them.

In Avery’s presentation, students are given voice and choice via Padlet. They are allowed to express their proposals on how to ease the flooding in Charleston with clear guidelines to follow. They will also be able to make a digital presentation of their choice, which I know can be fun for students who want to make their projects something creative!

In Blair’s Students are able to voice by compiling their learning into a presentation. As she put in her document they are able to choose from TikTok, YouTube, or presentation. She has them posting a QR code to the presentation allowing others to voice their opinions as that student does theirs! -angelina

In Angelina and Colin’s assessment students are given the opportunity to make personalized digital fitness trackers to collect information for them and their demographics. After this is done they will be making a template to follow their physical activity plan or even able to make their own. It allows them to choose what they believe will be best for their bodies and how they plan to achieve their goals.

In Jillian’s project, peer review was emphasized so the collaboration piece is really strong! Especially since it’s high school, peer feedback is a very good way for students to engage with their work.

For Taylor’s I like the idea that you are showing students the different healthy and unhealthy eating choices to show them what to eat and what not to eat is very smart, I also liked the idea of students logging their food intake throughout the week.

Faith’s ALE allows students to present their learning in a variety of fashions. There is also opportunity to create their own goals and adhere to them with a peer.

Avery’s project allows students to create specialized floodplans and a digital presentation intended to educate the community on the importance of disaster readiness. Students being able to share and discuss information on topics is a great way to given students more of a voice. I would like to use something similar to this in my future classroom.

I loved Faith’s problem that she mentioned I think it is an issue that often goes overlooked and could use some adjustments.

From looking at all of the ALE’s across the room, each one has carefully embedded technology in a way that it does not for put the flow of class time but subtly introduces itself into the lesson and allows students to grasp the information.

I liked Taylor’s concept on healthy nutrition as well as her assessment for it because it is similar to the topic I did for my EXPO and I can not stress enough the level of importance that nutrition possesses.

I really enjoyed Grey’s plan advocating for more art resources and integrating it with ELA. I believe art is very important and allows for students to be more creative in the classroom. I plan to integrate art/creativity in most lessons to keep my students engaged and interested.

In Taylor’s Authentic Assessment students log their food intake for a week and create a visual representation of which foods they ate, why and the nutritional value. My lesson also included health and it is often overlooked in elementary schools so I plan to include it in my classroom and have them do this as well to tie into other health topics such as the 6 essential nutrients.
