Belief in Allah (Tawhid)

Belief in Allah is the cornerstone of the Islamic faith, representing the oneness of God, also known as Tawhid. It emphasizes that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah. This belief is not just a theological concept but a guiding principle for Muslims daily.

Belief in the Angels

Muslims believe that throughout history, Allah has sent prophets and angels to guide humanity. These beings delivered Allah’s message to their nations and communities, calling people to righteousness and believing in one God.

Belief in the Quran

The Quran is Allah's final revelation to humanity, delivered through Prophet Muhammad. It is considered the unaltered word of God, providing comprehensive guidance on faith, morality, law, and personal conduct. The Quran confirms and corrects previous scriptures, serving Muslims as the ultimate source of divine wisdom.

Belief in the Messengers (Rasul)

Muslims believe that Allah sent many Messengers to guide humanity toward the truth. Each Messenger was tasked with reminding people to worship Allah alone and live righteous lives. Prophets such as Adam, Noah, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them) were crucial in delivering Allah's message. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is regarded as the final Messenger, and his teachings are followed by Muslims as the ultimate source of guidance.

Belief in the Day of Judgment (Qiyamah)

The Day of Judgment is a fundamental belief in Islam, where all individuals will be resurrected and held accountable for their deeds. Muslims believe that every person’s actions will be judged by Allah, determining their eternal destiny—whether in Heaven (Jannah) or Hell (Jahannam). This belief encourages Muslims to live moral and righteous lives, aware of the consequences in the hereafter.

Belief in Divine Decree (Qada' & Qadar)

Qada and Qadar refer to the concept of Divine Will and predestination. Muslims believe that everything that happens in life is according to Allah’s plan, both good and bad. While humans have free will to make choices, everything unfolds as per Allah's knowledge and decree, which also instils a sense of peace, encouraging patience, trust in Allah’s wisdom, and acceptance of life's events.

a. Nabi Nuh: preaching to his community, 950 years, and never gave up.

b. Nabi Ibrahim: Destroyed dolls that were idols, used a specific strategy, and had to behead his children for Allahs sake, as he trusted his lord very deeply.

c. Nabi Yusuf: could filter dreams, became the ruler of Mersih because he was able to decipher the dream of the previous one, and due of belief in hereafter.

1. Adab general points:

   • to refine, to educate and to discipline

   • deals with good morals, and appropriate actions derived from teaching and intentions of Islam

   • adab is not equal to quality

How to maintain them:

• mix with people that calm and cheerful

• restrain yourself from being arrogant

• be humble, truthful and patient

2. Akhlaq:

   • addresses why actions are proper/improper

   • applications: seeking help, apology, thanking, salam or greetings, and the gesture of smiles

   • benefits of them: beloved by Prophet Muhammad, receive Allah's love and forgiveness, and presence of peace and good relations
