The Henderson's Creek Wetlands are a lovely spot to explore, picnic, feed the birds and spot some rare and elusive species.

Henderson's Creek Wetlands, nestled within the suburban landscape of South Morang, Melbourne, offer a silent haven for both nature lovers and locals seeking a peaceful escape. This charming wetland area is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including water birds, frogs, and native plants. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks along the network of trails, observing the vibrant ecosystem up close while soaking in the tranquil atmosphere. The wetlands play a crucial role in storm water management and environmental conservation, providing a valuable habitat for wildlife and improving the overall quality of the local environment.

The wind whispered through the canopy of towering trees, their branches swaying rhythmically in a silent dance. The ancient giants, their trunks gnarled and wise, stood as sentinels guarding the placid lake. The water, a mirror-like expanse, mirrored the emerald hues of the trees and the azure sky. A flock of ducks, their feathers glistening in the sunlight, glided across the surface, their gentle quacking adding to the serene ambiance. The scene was a masterpiece of nature, a harmonious blend of movement, sound, and tranquility.

Creative Response - Drama

The wind whispered secrets through the ancient trees, carrying the sweet scent of pine needles and damp earth. A young family was strolling in the park on the sunny day. The mother was holding and showing the key to her children, she was trying to explain about a different world that exists in this landscape which only comes alive at night. The water, a mirror to the sky, was ruffling by the breeze, its surface dancing with tiny ripples. Lynch, C. (2021). “There are watersheds in space, the drawing together of rivers of galaxies. Our own Milky Way Galaxy is part of a stream that is drawing into the Laniakea supercluster, a great trunk of galactic water pulling toward an unseeable gravitational sink in space.”

It created a feeling of liberation deep inside my soul & allowed my consciousness to rethink the importance of creativity in life.

Birdsong filled the air, a symphony of chirps and whistles that seemed to blend seamlessly with the rustling leaves and the gentle lapping of the water. In this moment, I found solace, a connection to nature that transcended words. The lake, a living, breathing entity, seemed to offer her a sanctuary from the chaos of the world. it could also be hiding a secret opening to another world which could only be discovered by a deep dive into the lake. There could be lot of creatures playing joyfully in the depths of serene water body. An old tree resembles an entry door to another world hidden inside the depths of the lake.

The gentle lapping of waves against the shore, the rustling of leaves in the wind, and the chirping of birds create a soothing ambiance. The tranquil atmosphere allowed me to get fully absorbed in the present moment.

The tiny details of the environment, such as the delicate petals of a flower or the vibrant feathers of a bird bring joy to life. The wind serves as a recurring element, symbolizing both the ephemeral nature of life and the ever-present force of nature.

The peaceful moment serves as a reminder of the importance of finding moments of tranquility in our busy lives.

I started singing by moving my lips with the sounds that some birds were making. The cool breeze also made me feel like a kite dancing in the sky & started moving my hands like a kite would move in the breeze. This reminds of a topic from the unit which says (2) “Dance-play activities encourage young children to practice balance and motor skills while stretching the imagination .“
