To be honest, I am not into Grammar. When I started learning English, I was always under pressure with every Grammar lesson. I was scared when teachers called my name to answer the questions. When it came to exams, I even cried since I don't know what to deal with it.

But everything has chaged since the day I met you, Ms! You are different from my old teachers. You didn't force me to learn Grammar but you support and encourage me to learn it myself. Now, I really enjoy your lessons, I do love to study with you. You know, only you can understand my deepest fear. I am not scared Grammar anymore, thank you for releasing my pressure, Ms Lurex <3

Thật lòng mà nói em trước giờ không có thích grammar vì nó đầy lý thuyết nên em rất lười học. ㅠㅠ
Sau đó lên ĐH, trước cái ngày bước vào tiết đầu tiên của grammar em cứ hi vọng là em không có bị lười với mong gặp được giảng viên nào đừng có gây quá buồn ngủ.
Và em đã gặp được cô, cô Tuyến! Tiết của cô em thật sự rất có hứng thú để học và thật sự không có muốn cúp buổi nào. Nhờ cô mà em thật sự đã nhận ra được các lỗi lầm em hay mắc phải trong ngữ pháp và cách học ngữ pháp của bản thân. Cho nên em thật sự rất biết ơn cô đó ạ. 🙆‍♀️💜

Grammar is the fear of many students, including me. You are in charge of helping us overcome our biggest fear when studying our major, and I think you are outstandingly successful in that job.
I respect the way you discuss with us every grammar points instead of just showing the theory.
I love the way you express yourself whenever you share your feeling, respond to our story, and... ask about some technology tips. ^^
I just smile at every status you posted on Facebook. I don't know why the way you tell your stories is just so cute to me.

Honestly, when I decided to choose English as my major, I still wondered about my grammar skills and was afraid of dealing with different kinds of grammar exercises. But, thanks to your help, I learned how to reflect myself through each session from the very first day of studying. Self-reflection is an essential skill that I have only recently learned. And I think I was very fortunate to have you as a teacher at university.

You were more than a teacher. You always taught us everything you knew. From lessons, life skills to small tips in life. I feel very lucky to learn many good things from you, especially your whole-hearted heart in the way you cared for each of us; it is truly warm and touching.

When I can go to school, I want to have the opportunity to meet you and express my thanks. I hope to have the opportunity to listen to your voice and your lessons in many future semesters.

Christmas is coming. I wish you and your family good health, and you can continue to bring positive energy into this life. I will never forget you, and priceless lessons you gave to me.

I felt very lucky being one of your students this semester. You've taught us a lot of useful knowledge for our major and for our life as well. I wish you could be my mentor hehe. I can't wait to finally go to our school and see you in person. You always bring light and positivity in every session, I think out of all our teachers my classmates love you the most ^^ (please don't tell your colleagues)

Cô Tuyến thân mến,

Em vẫn còn nhớ tuần học đầu tiên của HK1 năm nhất thì có một môn được gọi là Định hướng chuyên ngành (Major Orientation). Chỉ trong ba ngày học liên tiếp ngắn ngủi thôi mà tụi em được nghe cô chia sẻ rất nhiều điều về trường, về khoa, về một số phương pháp học ở trên bậc đại học hiểu quả cùng với những cách học tiếng Anh đúng đắn. Trong số những điều đó, ấn tượng với em hơn hết vẫn là khái niệm self reflection. Thực sự trong suốt quá trình 12 năm đi học ở những cấp học dưới, em rất sợ việc trả bài cũ vì nó luôn làm em cảm thấy run và bồn chồn mỗi khi bị gọi tên lên bục giảng. Việc học thuộc lòng đối với các môn thiên về lý thuyết như Văn, Sử, Địa, GDCD,... là một nỗi ám ảnh đối với một người có não cá vàng như em. Tuy nhiên, đối với khái niệm self reflection mà cô Tuyến đề ra, em tự hiểu rằng nó cũng tựa như việc mình ôn tập lại các kiến thức của buổi học trước, sau đó mình sẽ tái hiện lại ở những buổi học sau để thể hiện sự hiểu bài của mình, nhưng nó khác ở chỗ là mình sẽ tự chủ động nhớ lại và ghi ra kiến thức của riêng mình sau mỗi buổi học một cách nhẹ nhàng và bớt áp lực hơn. Qua đó, em cảm thấy việc học trên đại học nói chung hoặc đối với các môn của cô Tuyến nói riêng trở nên dễ thở và thoải mái hơn.

Sau tuần học đầu tiên đó, em đã mong rằng mình có thể gặp lại cô ở những học kì sắp tới vì cô là một người có thể mang lại một bầu không khí tích cực, êm đềm và vui vẻ đến với lớp. May mắn thay, khi em kiểm tra lại tên của giảng viên dạy môn Grammar B2 thì hoá ra đó lại thực sự là cô Tuyến. Em cảm thấy rất vui và hào hứng vì mình lại có thể tiếp tục trải nghiệm qua những giờ học tích cực và thú vị cùng với cô ở môn học mà em cho là đáng sợ nhất đối với em. Đối với môn này, không chỉ có self reflection mà tụi em còn được học thêm hai khái niệm nữa xuất hiện trong bài tập về nhà của mình là self-assessment và peer-assessment. Để có thể hiểu được nó thì phải thông qua bài tập viết paragraph mỗi tuần sau đó tự bản thân mình đánh giá lại bài làm và các thành viên trong nhóm cũng sẽ cùng nhau góp ý để bài viết của nhau trở nên tốt hơn. Đối với nhóm em thì tụi em quyết định chọn khung giờ tối của Chủ Nhật mỗi tuần để thực hiện phần peer-assessment vì nó sẽ tiện hơn trong việc đưa ra ý kiến của mỗi thành viên. Thông qua suốt 7 8 tuần để thực hiện các chủ đề được cô đề ra trong course syllabus, em nhận ra rằng nó đã tạo điều kiện cho em có thể nâng cao khả năng nhận diện các loại lỗi và cái thiện khả năng viết lách bằng tiếng Anh của mình. Hơn thế nữa, em đã có được cơ hội trở nên gần gũi hơn với các thành viên nhóm mình thông qua việc gọi điện cho nhau mỗi tối cuối tuần. Khoảng thời gian đó thực sự rất là vui và nó đã giúp một phần nào đó giải toả áp lực của em trong suốt một tuần học vất vả.

Hy vọng thông qua đôi dòng chia sẻ ngắn ngủi của em, cô sẽ như được tiếp thêm động lực và sức mạnh để tiếp tục công việc giảng dạy của mình trên giảng đường USSH.

Okay, let's consider this tiny note as a confession. Honestly, since secondary school, I have never studied grammar seriously. All I could do were reading and circling the answer that I liked best =)) It seems that most of us have the same problem as me :<

But since I became a student of our faculty and was lucky enough to be taught by you, my grammar has improved significantly. Now I consider things more carefully, bear in mind lots of useful grammar points, and can make sure to circle the correct answers by applying knowledge that you've taught us. That really makes me feel more secure when doing tests hahaha =)))

Dạ phần này nói tiếng Việt cho dễ hiểu nha cô. Học cô vui lắm, em chỉ hóng đến t4 để nghe cô dạy thui (dù các môn khác cũng thú dị nhưng em thích môn của cô nhất). Cách cô truyền tải bài học trông "calm" với "charming" lắm hihihi. Cảm ơn cô vì những tiết học bổ ích, cảm ơn cô đã giúp em thấy vui hơn khi học ngữ pháp tiếng Anh ạ!!!

(Hôm bữa lướt fb em thấy cô share kỉ niệm và tấm ảnh ở trên trông đáng iu nhất, nên em để nó ở đây cho cô và các bạn ngắm nha)

💬 At first, I was so nervous about this subject. But I find it interesting to be one of your students kaka (How lucky I am). I want to say that your lesson is now very fascinating (Although sometimes I feel so sleepy in the morning), but I think that we all enjoyed our time together.
💟 This Christmas may be different from other years. We can only celebrate it at home or enjoy it with an examination like me TT. However, I wish you good health, a cozy Christmas, and a happy 2022 with success and delight.

Dear Ms. Lurex,

Maybe my English is not good enough to express all of my feelings, my emotions, but I just want to say that I really enjoy every class with you. In my high school, grammar was my nightmare because I was made to completely focus on grammar with a lot of rigid theories. Since I had a chance to study with you, they are still those theories; however, they have turned out easier for me to adopt. Your lessons as well as our teaching style inspire me to develop my liking for English. You also advise us a lot on how to study, to look up evidence (I think my grammar is better now :>>) , and share your own stories as well! ( I can see myself in some of your stories!)

I have nothing to say except for saying thank you very very very much! (Cái gì quan trọng nói 3 lần ạ :>) I know “All good things must come to an end.”, but you will be the ones that I cannot forget. Thank you for giving me a significantly memorable course!

Đôi lời tâm sự :))
Con chào cô!!! Thật sự bước vào cánh cổng mới là điều con rất mong chờ và hào hứng, nhưng khi thật sự dấn thân dô thì mọi thứ không hề dễ dàng. Mọi thứ điều thay đổi từ bài học, cách học, môi trường học, rồi thầy cô đều rất mới, rất khác với con. Haizz lo lắng nhẹ í cô ạ (à không nhiều ạ :((). Nhưng thật may mắn khi con được lọt dô lớp của cô ạ trong học kì này, cô dạy cách học grammar như nào mới đúng, mới hiệu quả, cô nói chuyện, giao lưu với bọn con rất tự nhiên, thoải mái kiểu giống chị em ở trong nhà í cô. Vậy nên là em thấy việc học không có nhiều áp lực, hay khuôn khổ quá nhiều hihi. Con cảm ơn cô nhiều lắm. À còn một điều nữa, cô hài hước lắm cô hihi, dễ thương, cute thiệt sự.
Một mùa Giáng Sinh nữa lại đến, em mong cô và gia đình thật khỏe mạnh, vui vẻ,hạnh phúc cô nhé!!! Mong cô luôn giữ niềm đam mê về những gì cô đang làm và ấp ủ!!! Có nhiều trò ngoan như tụi con nhóa!!!
