Croissants are a much loved breakfast staple throughout Britain and you can find them almost everywher, on almost every corner! Croissants were actually invented in Sweden, but quickly became popular in France as a luxury item. Britons were introduced to the puff pastry shortly afterwards. However, they were still only considered a luxury item and were not widely consumed until the 1980s, when croissants were mass-produced. The countless wars between France and Great Britain have created a unique relationship between Great Britain and France.

Small groups of Italian protestants introduced spaghetti in Britain. They migrated to England during the late 1600's. It never really caught on, the reason of it was because of the right sort of wheat was hard to come by. In the end they faded into the background.

The Italian protestants came to Britain because of their religious. They found England to be a hospitable haven.

Spaghetti became popular after World War II. Servicemen had been to Italy on Holiday because it was cheap.
