I've been working on a lot of collage pieces lately and seem to be stuck on creating them - so I need to get back into more playful sketching.

This is my second time doing the course and I can feel the deepening.

I also found a NEW APP on my I-pad called "PAGES" where I can create one page using various formats by dragging & dropping photos onto that page.

it. Anyway, it was lots of fun and I used Posca pens, watercolors, collage pieces, and graphite.

Still interesting for reflection and the search for ideas to create the Sketchbook page with a focal point !

I used the pages to pick what to draw/create then researched facts about each online.

This is my second time taking this class as I did it when it was first offered and just found my old class art. It was really interesting to see the changes as well as what hasn’t changed much at all.

Anyway this is a terrific book for anyone that likes anatomy :)

I added 1907 stamps from my Swedish grandmother's scrapbook of old love letters along with part of a postcard.

We live on 5 wooded acres in the wilderness, so I often find different things - a lot of deer antlers that I use to make jewelry.

The human spine sketch was taken from my Anatomy & Physiology book that I had from my college class in A&P...

many years ago.

Since Lewis said that we could 'draw him' - I did. I need to work on that a bit more - can't seem to get his eyes right?

I like to find pieces of old artwork, collage, mail, etc. to use in my grids so I draw the squares & rectangles later -depending on what I like and want to use. This is so much fun!!!

This is a human scarum (the bone between the hip bones, is made of five vertebrae fused together, the coccyx attaches to the bottom of it). And my sketches, one bare bones, the other after I did the composition.

Great class, my sketchbook is nearly full. These are my first attempts at each exercise.

I will definitely do one or two things differently next time (and looking at it now I'm getting more ideas but calling it good for the purpose of this exercise), but overall I'm happy with the result. Materials used: printed photographs, a child's drawing, ballpoint pen, ink pen, Posca markers, fountain pen (blue ink), coloured pencils, calligraphy pens, mechanical pencil led (for charcoal effect), Hello Kitty watercolours (pens).

I also brought my sketchbook to an open arts night with a woodcut artist, and used the eye and crow from my first spread for a little print making!
