         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Tometti fossil is more closely related to crocodiles. Both the Tometti fossil and crocodiles have many pointy teeth (Found in evidence card A for Tometti and evidence card L for crocodiles) while ostriches have no teeth. (Found in evidence card M). The Tometti fossil shares more structures with crocodiles than it does with ostriches. This means the Tometti and crocodiles were separated more recently and therefore share a more recent common ancestor, which is why paleontologists compare all three fossils. There are some differences between the Tometti fossil and the crocodile, but that is because even though they are more closely related, they have been separated for a very long time, so they have changed to adapt to their environments.  According to evidence card B, the Tometti skull has five holes in it, and crocodile skulls have three holes and crocodiles’ ancestors had four holes which is found in the evidence card L. The common ancestor had four holes, so it could be that over the time the crocodile and the Tometti were separated the crocodile lost one hole and the Tometti gained one. It is true that the Tometti fossil and ostriches walked on two limbs and their toes and not the whole foot as shown in evidence card K and Q, which might make some think that the Tometti fossil is more closely related to ostriches. But the Tometti shares more structure with the crocodile for example the tail being long and has many bones but the ostrich only has a short tail that has one bone. (Evidence card C for the Tometti tail, evidence card R for the crocodile tail and evidence card S for the ostrich tail). Overall, the Tometti shares more structures with the crocodile so the evidence supports the claim that the Tometti fossil is more closely related to crocodiles, not ostriches.</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Tometti fossil is more closely related to crocodiles than ostriches. In evidence Card A and L they show that both crocodiles and tomettis have similar skull structure since both these skulls consists of having multiple holes within the area. While evidence Card M shows us that the ostriches holes in the skull are now together. Therefore crocodiles and tometti's are more similar with each other since they have more similar body/bone/skull features. The evidence Card L also portrays that crocodiles have sharp pointy teeth while in Card A shows that tometti's have sharp pointy teeth, which makes them both share another similar structure. Card M shows us that the ostriches have no teeth at all so they are not more closely related to tomett's than crocodiles. Since crocodiles and tometti's are more closely related to each other this would mean that they recently separated from the ancestor population. Since these two recently separated they would mostly have more similar body structures. Ultimately, crocodiles are more closely related to tomettis than ostriches are.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Tometti fossil is closely related to the crocodiles. to support this the tometti fossil and the crocodiles have very similar skull features. For example on evidence card L is shows and tells us how the crocodiles have holes and sharp pointy teeth and so do the tometti fossils based on evidence card B. But since the ostrich  has no holes in skull or teeth reached from card M makes me believe that its not as close to the tometti as the crocodiles.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Based on the evidence I can conclude that the Tometti fossil is more closely related to crocodiles, reason being is because the crocodile does not necessarily have MORE in common with the tometti fossil but BIGGER and more IMPORTANT things in common with the Tometti fossil. As seen in evidence cards B &amp; L we can see that the skulls in both for the crocodiles (L) and the skull for the tometti fossil (B) both have similar head shape, similar amounts of holes in the skulls and teeth that are sharp. While in evidence card M (for the ostrich) has a long in width head, only one huge hole in the skull and absolutely no teeth whatsoever. Now what does the tometti fossil have in common with the ostrich? Arms? Oh well thats pretty important- NOT ARMS, legs? Thats pretty important, NOT LEGS, hands and feet? That can be kinda important you know- NOT HANDS A FEET. Toes and fingers! That is not as important in my opinion because their not even identical its just similar. In conclusion the Tometti fossil is more closely related to crocodiles, reason being is because the crocodile share more vitel parts with the crocodile in comparison to the ostrich because while the ostrich shares similar fingers the crocodile shares similar massive and long tails, while the ostrich shares toes the crocodile shares the skull shape, structure and teeth.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Based on the observations I looked at yesterday and what info I collect I believe The Tometti is more closely releated to crocodile 🐊 because at the evidence cards it shows that both of them have sharp teeth both have similar head shape and the amount of holes they have and they walk with there toes not feet and the back bone.  Meanwhile, Tometti is more related to crocodile because they have same body features sizes, and what they both make them share similar structures.</div>]]></description>

Based on evidence card B, you can tell that the Tometti fossil has a pretty long skull with many holes and sharp teeth. Evidence card L shows that crocodiles have huge skulls with lots of holes and very sharp teeth. Evidence card C also tells us that the Tometti fossil has a long tail made up of aboout 50 bones. Evidence card R also tells us that crocodiles too have a long tail made up of 30-40 bones. Some may say that the Tometti fossil is more closely related to the osrtich because evidence card E and O shows that they both have 3 fingers on each hand. Also, evidence card H and Q show that they both walk on the toes of their back limbs. Plus, they have a similar overall design. They may be right but the more evidence cards point towards the crocodiles. So, the Tometti fossil is more closely related to the crocodile.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Based on the evidence cards and the information that I have gathered I think that the new species called the tometti is more closely related to the crocodile then it is to the ostrich. I think this because both the tometti and the crocodile have a lot in common. I know this because based on evidence cards B and L both animals have very similar skulls. Both have sharp teeth on both the bottom and top of there jaw. Also just based on look the ostrich skull looks nothing in compare to the crocodiles and tometti. Also I think that the crocodile and the tometti is closely related because based on cards C and R They also have similar tails. Both of there tails are long and have a curve at the end and also both of these animals tail are almost as long as there body. But on the other hand the ostrich tail is very short and stubby and looks nothing like the tail on the tometti. Though people might say that the ostrich is more like the tometti because of evidence cards O and E the crocodile and tometti have way more in common.</title>

I say this because if you look closely the arm tail and the structure of its legs are really similar. For example, evidence cards L and Q look so similar to each other. If you look closely in the skull shape it's a kind of pointy animal with teeth. And ostrich doesn't even have teeth. Another evidence card is C and R. I say this because its tail is not short nor long, its medium. And sharp. So, therefore the crocodile is more like the tomete fossil. </div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

According to evidence card B and L, the crocodile and Tometti fossil share the same skull features, they both have medium to large holes and pointy teeth, while ostriches have no teeth. In addition, evidence cards C and R show the tail of the crocodile and Tometti fossil. It shows how they both share the structure where the tail bones get smaller as you reach the end of the tail. Also they have bones that connect to each other. While the Ostrich tail is short and nothing like the other tails. The evidence that supports my claim is in Evidence card (Q) state that the Tometti back limbs and the ostriches back limbs were both used to walk and both walked on their toes and not their whole foot. This is important because the Tometti fossil and the ostrich both walk the same way but the crocodiles walk on both front and back limbs which are very similar in the body structures. Another piece of evidence is Evidence card (O) states that the ostriches' hands have three digits (fingers) on each hand like the Tometti fossil also that ostriches have different amounts of bone in each finger like the Tometti has for its fingers. This is important because the hand structure is very similar to each other that means both species are closely related. Another important evidence is Evidence card (M) that states that the ostriches had many holes in their head but as birds evolved the holes merged together also the ostriches teeth group has evolved to have no teeth but the earliest birds did have teeth. This evidence is important because the ostriches used to have teeth with their skulls and the Tometti fossil has teeth on its skull. With this evidence I conclude that the Tometti fossil is closely related to the Ostrich. </div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Based on my observations from the evidence cards I can conclude that the Tometti fossil is more related to the crocodiles than the ostriches. To start off, evidence card R states, "Crocodiles have a long tail made of 30-40 bones. The bones are connected together." This evidence card talks about the crocodiles tail. This card supports that the Tometti fossil is more related to the Crocodile because the evidence card of the Tometti fossil shows how it has 55 different bones. Although it has more bones than the crocodiles tail's bones it is still more similar to it because the ostrich's tail is only one bone. Throughout generations the Tometti fossil might have been passed on the trait to have more bones on its tail. Another example is, evidence card B states "The skull is long. The top half of the skull has five holes while the bottom part of the skull has five one hole. Each hole is a different size, with the largest hole found on the top half of the skull." The fossil's skull is very similar to the Crocodiles skull. They both have holes in them and they both are very long. They both have some differences but in the end the fossil and the crocodile are more similar. Lastly, evidence card M states, "The skull in ostriches and other birds has evolved so many of the holes in the skull have merged together. Now, there is much less bone in the birds skulls, making the skulls very light weight." As you can see this evidence proves that the Tometti fossil and the Ostrich's skulls are very different from each other. A skull is something that is common in passing down from an ancestor. In the end I can conclude that the Tometti Fossil and the Crocodile are related to each other.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Tometti mystery fossil is more closely related to ostriches than crocodiles because the Tometti shares  a closer common ancestor population with ostriches than with crocodiles. As a junior paleontologist I observed that the Tometti has more body structures that resemble an ostrich than a crocodile and from that info I created a timeline. It most likely starts with all three of them sharing a common ancestor population, which later split with the ancestors of the Tometti and ostrich living in one environment, with the other population living in a different environment and this I concluded was the ancestor population of the crocodile. As both populations evolved and gained new body structures, differences between the two populations occurred causing the descendant species (crocodiles, Tometti and ostriches) to have diagnostic structures like the crocodile’s front limb which has 5 digits instead of 3 like the Tometti and there are differences in the back limbs as well. The crocodile lives in the water and has adapted different traits from its common ancestor with the Tometti and since it has been split from Tometti for longer than the ostrich has it shares less traits, I know many other scientist will say it's a hard decision and that there are many similarities between the Tometti and crocodile but the Tometti shares 2 common body structures with the ostrich while it only shares one clear common body structure with the crocodile and one that it could share with the crocodile. Some will argue that the skull of the Tometti closely resembles that of the crocodile’s but there are also a lot of differences that could also suggest its a shared structure with the ostrich such as holes in the skull. The Tometti has twice as many holes in their skull than crocodiles, birds at some point had holes in their skull which have fused together so that its skull is light, but like the Tometti it could have had 6 holes in its head before evolving.  Since the populations of all of these animals' ancestors split in speciation, the ancestor populations developed new traits for their specific environment and life. The ancestor population that the Tometti and ostrich share most likely evolved and changed and that also caused the two species to have shared structures from their ancestors because they are the descendant species of those ancestors. Some traits the Tometti and ostrich both share are their front and back limbs because both species walk only on their back limbs and on their digits instead of their whole foot. Also the Tometti and ostrich both have 3 digits in their front limbs with the amount of bones in each digit for the Tometti going 4, 3, 2 from left to right and 1, 3, and 2 going from left to right for the ostrich which is quite similar to the 4, 3, 2 of the Tometti, except the first digit of the Tometti has 4 bones in it and the ostrich only has 1 bone in its first digit.  All in all the Tometti shares more body structures with the ostrich than the crocodile because their back and front limbs are similar.          </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Based on my observations of the descriptions of the evidence cards, I can conclude that the Tometti Fossil is more closely related to Ostriches than to Crocodiles. While it is true that all three species, Ostriches, Crocodiles, and the Tometti fossil, are related because of a common ancestor population, speciation, and even evolution, the Tometti fossil has more shared structures with Ostriches than with Crocodiles. Take cards K, P, and Q, as an example, these cards shows viewers that the Tometti fossil’s back limbs are more like an ostriches than a crocodile’s because both the Tometti Fossil and Ostrich used their toes on their back limbs to walk instead of their whole foot, whereas, the Crocodile used it’s whole foot and not just its toes to walk. Although both the Tometti fossil and Crocodile had four toes, having four toes did not help the Tometti fossil walk, using its's three toes from its back limbs helped the Tometti fossil walk, like I stated before, the Crocodile did not use only it’s toes to walk, the crocodile species used it’s whole foot. Another great example that shows viewers that the Tometti Fossil is more related to Ostriches than crocodiles are cards N, O, and E, these cards show us that the Tometti fossil’s hands are more like an Ostriches than a Crocodile's because they both have three fingers on their front limbs, while the Crocodile has five fingers. I can infer from this information that the Tometti fossil and Ostriches both having three fingers means that three fingers are an adaptive trait for them, and that both species use their fingers for similar reasons. I can also infer that the Crocodile uses its fingers for different reasons than the Tometii fossil and Ostrich species. My final example that proves my claim that the Tometti fossil is more related to Ostriches than Crocodiles, are cards L, M, and B,  while it is true that the modern day Ostrich does not have teeth, the earlier generation of Ostriches did have teeth. It is possible that the Ostrich species evolved from the Tometti species to survive in its environment. Since It is more likely that an organism will die before it reproduces if it does not have adaptive traits, the Ostriches most likely inherited the no teeth trait because of a mutation or evolution because this trait would help the species survive in it's environment. In conclusion, the Tometti fossil is more closely related to the Ostrich species than to the Crocodile species, because the Tometti fossil has more shared structures with Ostriches. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Based on the Evidence Given, I can conclude that The Tometti Fossil is more related to the Crocodile Than the Ostrich. Although I believe that All three species come from the same ancestor population, The Crocodile and Tometti fossil share a More recent Common ancestor population than the ostrich. This is because while there some similarities between the ostrich and Tometti fossil, there are way more similarities between the Crocodile and Tometti fossil and there are also more differences between the Tometti fossil and Ostrich. The only similarity between the ostrich and the Tometti Fossil is their hands. According to evidence Cards N, O, and E, Both The Tometti fossil and ostrich have 3 fingers, While the crocodile has 5. This could most likely be because the crocodile traverses on both water and land, while the ostrich only walks on land, and I haven't received any info on the Tometti fossil, swimming in the water. This is where the similarities between the two end. The next structure we are going to be discussing is the skulls. According to Evidence cards L, M, and B, You can notice the differences and similarities at first glance.  When you look at the Crocodiles skull and Tometti fossils skull, They both Have sharp teeth, are longer compared to the ostrich, and contain multiple holes. When you look at the Ostrich skull, you can see that the skull has fewer holes than the Tometti fossil and Has no Sharp teeth. Another observation you can make is that the ostrich has a beak made of Keratin that the other two fossils do not Have. This proves that the Skull of the Tometti fossil is more similar to the crocodile’s skull than the ostriches skull. Next, when we look at the tails, It’s another easy conclusion. When looking at Evidence cards C, S, and R, you'll notice that the Tail of the ostrich is way shorter in length compared to the other two species. Both The crocodile and Tometti fossils have long tail that is composed of 30+ Bones, while the ostrich tail is short and is only made of one bone with multiple segments. This shows that the Tometti fossil’s tail structure is more similar to that of a crocodile. Our final body Structure, We are going to be comparing the Back Limbs. When You take A look at Evidence cards K, P, and Q, You'll notice that The Back limbs and feet of an ostrich have only two toes, While the other two species have 4. You'll also notice that the Tometti Fossil and Crocodile have more Joints in their back limbs than the ostrich, therefore concluding That the Tometti fossils Back limbs and feet are similar to those of a crocodile. When we look at the summary of our research, You'll Notice that The similarities between the Tometti fossil and Crocodile outnumber the similarities of the Tometti fossil to the ostrich 3-1. This proves the statement I made earlier in this report. Although I believe that All three species come from the same ancestor population, The Crocodile and Tometti fossil share a More recent Common ancestor population than the ostrich. This is because while there some similarities between the ostrich and Tometti fossil, there are way more similarities between the Crocodile and Tometti fossil and there are also more differences between the Tometti fossil and Ostrich. So, this is why Based on the Evidence Given, I can conclude that The Tometti Fossil is more related to the Crocodile Than the Ostrich. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Tometti fossil is more closely related to crocodiles because the Tometti fossil and crocodiles have many pointy teeth (Found in evidence card A for Tometti and evidence card L for crocodiles) while ostriches have no teeth. The Tometti fossil shares more structures with crocodiles than it does with ostriches. This means the Tometti and crocodiles were separated more recently and therefore share a more recent common ancestor, which is why paleontologists compare all three fossils. also for card R for crocodile the crocodile have long tail just like in card C the tometti fossil so that mean they share the same tail structure and not with the ostrich because the ostrich have a short tail this mean that the crocodile and the tometti fossil shares more structures with crocodiles than it does with ostriches.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Tommetti Fossil is closely related to ostriches. The Tommetti Fossil is closely related to ostriches, because of the back limbs. The evidence that supports my claim is Evidence Cards K and Q, the Tommetti Fossil and ostriches only walked on their back limbs and had a close number of toes on each foot. The Tommetti walked on its 3 toes instead of the whole feet and ostriches also walked on their toes, which is 2. Since the Tommetti Fossil and ostriches only used their back limbs to walk, the crocodile walked on both limbs. Paleontologists use body structures to explain how they know two different species are more closely related to each other than they are to a third species by knowing the size of the body structures and knowing what the species use that specific body structure for.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Based on the information I know and have learned from the many Evidence Cards, I think the Tometti fossil is more closely related to ostriches. I say it is more closely related to Crocodiles than Ostriches because of the body structures and the way it is built/ looks. For example, in Evidence Card C you can see the Tometti's tail. From the way it looks you can already tell it’s long, it has a lot of bones and it looks more like the Crocodiles tail. When you look at Evidence Cards R and S, you can clearly see that by comparing all 3 animals’ tails that the Tomettis tail looks more like the Crocodiles. This evidence supports my claim because it shows that the Ostriches’ tail looks very small and it does not have the same amount of bones that the Tometti has. Secondly, the reason I know that the Tometti fossil is more closely related to Crocodiles than Ostriches is because of the skull shape. When you look at Evidence Cards A and B which are both images of the Tometti skull, you can see the way it is shaped on the bottom and how long it is. When you look at Evidence Card L and M (Crocodile and Ostrich skulls) you can see that they are both long but it is something about the Tometti skull and the Crocodile skull that shows you how similar they are. This evidence supports my claim because you can see that when you look at the Ostriches’ skull you can see that the structure is not the same, it does not have the same jaw structure and it just does not look more alike than the Crocodiles and the Tometti fossil. Finally, I know that the Tometti fossil is more closely related to the Crocodile than the Ostrich because of the hands. When you look at the Tometti's hands you can see in the description that they are all different sizes. Then when you look at the Crocodile’s hands you can see that they also do not all look the same size and in fact that are kind of similar in the way the whole arms is sort of bent. This supports my claim highly because it solidifies the fact that I know the Tometti fossil and the Crocodile are more closely related to each other than the Tometti fossil and the Ostrich because of the body structures and small but important details.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The tometti fossil is more closly related to the crocidle because it has nearly identical body structres. As seen in evedince card a and l it shows a clear simulairty in skull shape. Also if u take a look at evdince cards  r and c it shows that the croc and the fossil have almost the exact same tail while the ostrich has a completly short taill. Both of these pieces of evedince mean that the croc is more related to the fossil than the ostrich<br><br></div>]]></description>
