I feel like that really set the mood for the class. She was yelling at them to try to get them to do what they were supposed to or to behave. This made the students defensive and they argued with her. She threatened punishment when they wouldn't move seats right away, stating she would have them escorted out of class. This doesn't make the teacher appear as an ally but instead as an adversary. She also would not leave the front of the room or the whiteboard unless she was going to go yell at a student. This does not keep them engaged.

Teacher number 2 was calm and respectful to her students. She had a good attitude and was laughing and talking with students. This is much different than how teacher number 1 acted. Because of the way the teacher number 2 acted, her students were also respectful. They raised their hand for help, voices were off during the lesson unless being spoken to, and it seemed like all the students were being active in the lesson or participating. I saw that the teacher walked around her students desks and checked their work and assessed on who might need help during the lesson. Relationships inspire students to work together and brainstorm, be friendly toward one another, and makes the student want to learn and rely on their teacher for help. If students and teachers have a bad relationship learning will be difficult. They need to know they can count on their teacher to teach them but also to be there for them in their time of need. Teachers are taught to be aware of what might be going on at home or signs of abuse or that a student is struggling. - Having students "teach" each other for reviews or when their classmate needs help. I will have an ask your neighbor first rule so that students learn to be resourceful but also to rely upon each other when they need help.
