Cuban Crisis resolved by Kennedy agreeing to mutual remove missiles on both sides. Kennedy gained favor due to the removal on his end being done in secret. By mid-November, 74 percent of Americans approved of “the way John Kennedy is handling his job as President,”. This was in clear correlation with the personal secrecy in the missile withdrawal agreement.

Nixon decided to normalize relations with the Peoples Republic of China, also his eight-day visit to Beijing in February 1972 was a television extravaganza. Contrary to this he planned the move in such secrecy that he didn’t notify members of his own cabinet. After this event majority of Nixon's actions were done in secrecy to the degree hardly anything wasn't when compared to previous presidents. , he even secretly advised South Vietnamese President Nguyen Van Thieu to resist peace overtures until after the U.S. election that had him as president. Eventually secrecies came to light such as his violations during the Watergate Scandal. Nixon resigned August 9, 1974, but was pardoned September 8, 1974 by George Bush.
