         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Brahman, the supreme god</strong><br>Hindus believe in<em> Brahman</em>,the Supreme God. One aspect is that he is the Absolute; he is formless without <em>&nbsp;gunas </em>(attributes), <em>omnipotent </em>(all powerful), <em>omniscient </em>(all knowing) and <em>omnipresent </em>(present everywhere). <br><strong>Unity of all things and beings</strong><br>Hindus believe in the the unity of all things and beings.The different parts of the Universe are regarded as different forms of <em>Barhman</em>.<br><strong>Reincarnation</strong> <br>Hindus believe in that the <em>Atma</em> (soul) is eternal.This means it never dies.The soul then enters a body at birth and departs from it at death.The soul then enters the another body at its birth. Rebirth=Reincarnation. <em>Samsara-</em>birth,life and death go on and on in a cycle.&nbsp;<br>- that the paths leading to this union with the Supreme God are those of Bhakti (devotion), Karma (right action) and Jnana (knowledge)<br>- in leading life a life of Dharma (right conduct) through cultivating values such as honesty, charity, self-restraint, compassion for the suffering, generosity&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><em>Prayers<br></em></strong>Prayers place an important part in a Hindu's life as It gives him the spiritual strength to lead a righteous life. Hindu's pray to thank god for the blessings they received and ask for protection and help in times of difficulties. Every Hindu home has an alter which has pictures or statues of deities on the alter. A lamp is lit first before starting the prayer. Praying at home consists of recitation of scriptures, stanzas and names of gods,the burning of incense, offering of fruits,flowers and food,singing of hymns and the showing of a camphor flames. On festive occasions, special prayers may be conducted by the family at the altar. <br>&nbsp;<strong><em>Worship in a temple<br></em></strong>For Hindus, the temple is a holy place for individual or collective prayer. The priest, on the behalf of the devotees, perform the puja(the regular ritual of worship). The main puja is performed 3 times and closes with a request for peace and welfare of the world.<br>The priest begins by reciting mantras that cleanse him,the atmosphere and the devotees.<br>The main puja also consists of bathing the deities,dressing and adorning the deities,offering food,lighting an oil lamp and incense,chanting raises to the deities and placing flowers on the image.The priest conveys the deities' blessings to its devotees through sacred tokens such as camphor flame, sacred ash and water. These tokens differ according to the deity being worshipped. During the prayers, devotees are expected to think about nothing except the deity.At the beginning and end of a puja, devotees prostrates themselves before  the deity as an act of humility and total surrender.</div>]]></description>
