First day of class:

Send a warm "Welcome e-mail," and also remind textbook requirements, D2L course shell availability, and other tools that will help the students succeed in the class.

Use "Icebreaker" after individual introductions. Utilize breakout rooms for 3-5 students per room to share "favorite food," "first international city to travel post-Covid-19," etc. Do this three times, then 1 time during the mid-class break, and 1 more at closing. Repeat every week.

Revise all publisher textbook weekly chapter PPT slides. Currently, the publisher PPT slides are very text-heavy with very limited images. Use more images, photos, or clip arts to suit the content. Move all current text to the speaker notes section. Minimal use of text; use only for chapter headings and/or important concepts/keywords. Embed short, relevant videos to PPT slides.

Since most of my business classes are two hours long, I'll use the following strategies to make the class more manageable and relevant.

Utilize break times, "Let's take a little breather to stretch, get a snack, etc."

Continue to have currents events in the beginning of each class; the students really like this. However, to encourage more active participation, I will ask students to bring their own articles/links to share to the class. They will screen share.
