This Jazz song by Tim Snyder is an embodiment of Jay Gatsby. In the song the Sheik describes how "Even wives of all other  sheiks, they beg to kiss" him (Snyder). Gatsby feels as if Tom and Daisy's relationship is a robbery of Gatsby himself. The song "You Belong with Me" by Taylor Swift could perfectly replace "The Sheik of Araby" in a modern setting. Taylor describes how the other girl "doesn't get [his] humor like [she does]" (Swift). This mirrors how Gatsby feels about Tom and Daisy's relationship. In the process of touring his house he requests the song "The Love Nest" by Louis A. Hirsch and Otto Harbach. The song describes a "dream room for two" which is "a love nest" with "warmth and love inside" (Hirsch and Harbach). This description is juxtaposed to the "palace with a gilded dome", which is devoid of love. This is ironice considering Gatsby is showing Daisy around his enormous house in attempt to seduce her with his wealth. The song "Runaway" by Galantis matches this since it describes materialism as less than love. Although right now Gatsby and Daisy "got fun", "the rents unpaid dear"; this foreshadows that money can not buy Gatsby's desires. Specifically, Daisy, who was visited by "Mr. Stork", can never be with Gatsby due to her relationship with Tom and her child. In "Happy" by Pharrell Williams the singer is "Happy" even tho they receive "bad news" because "bring me down can't nuthin'" (Williams). This is similar to "Ain't we got fun" in that the singer is care free despite their problems.
