Others would grow more slowly and produce a small yield. In addition there would be less precipitation and it would be darker, also damaging yield. You compound that with [the shutdown of] the current global network of food trading — countries would likely stop shipping food and focus on feeding their own populations — and it's a big crisis.

Killing though war and killing with nuclear weapons is still killing. Either way, there is a similar result. Only the inexperienced beleive bombs make our world safer, when in reality, they are not controllable.

This is essentially saying that the restrictive and threatening nature of nuclear weapons is exactly what keeps the world safe. If there is that constant, ominous threat over everyone’s head, then no country will fully commit to fighting another country. They could so easily be set off, whether it’s intentional or not, which will trigger a chain of deadly and catastrophic events. Millions of casualties, radioactive air, destruction, climate change, etc. I don’t think it is worth having nuclear weapons just so that maybe another country will feel so threatened they decide to not attack.
