Eddie is a kind soul

This shows how Eddie was a loving human being to everyone around him. He was kind, he was responsible, he helped many of his peers, and he tried his best to live his life to the fullest. Eddie was a hard worker and he is concerned for the well-being of others. Throughout this part of the book, he shows his love for kids. He loves their energy and he talks about how he had sacrificed his own life for that little girl to live. He's not sure if her name was Amy or Annie, but he had hoped that she lived.

Hoped he saved the little girl

Eddie had done something incredible and he had hoped with all of his life that this decision of his didn't go to waste. He had tried to save a little girl from getting crushed by a falling roller coaster. He wasn't sure if her name was Annie or Amy. All he had hoped for was that she lived and didn't die. This thought had stuck with him for a very long time and still does throughout the chapter.

This surprised me so much when it said "Eddie felt his body rip in half" (70). It showed how much pain he was in and how this part of the book was traumatic for him. It also shows how he reacted to he situation

Eddie revealed a part of his past

During this scene, Eddie is revisiting his past. He talks about his parents and says that his dad grew more angry and frustrated each day. Eddie had gone through a phase of depression and his dad had yelled at him a lot for being lazy. Eddie's dad would yell at him to go out and get a job and do something with his life.

Eddie shows a side of bravery

In this part of the book, this side of Eddie shows up. He starts to be more open and is honest about the bad things in life. He shows that he is a human being that went through a traumatic childhood and now seeing everything unfold again is hard for him to watch. He then has the courage to see it happening all over again and is able to own up to what had happened to him in his past.

Eddie's dad making an impulsive decision

During this scene in the book, Mickey Shea had done something terrible to Eddie's mom. Eddie's dad became furious when he found out. He wanted to give Mickey Shea what he deserved, but when Eddie's dad had seen Mickey Shea drowning he decided to do the right thing and save his life. He didn't even think and just jumped in the ocean during a terrible storm to save someone or did something horrible to his wife.

Eddie's feelings about his father change

During this part in the book, Eddie had just found out that his dad had died doing a good deed. For his whole life, Eddie had thought that his dad died doing something stupid because he was drunk. Once he had observed this part of his dad's life, his feelings had changed about his dad. He felt bad that he had judged his dad so quickly because of how his dad had acted during his childhood.

The Blue Man inspired Eddie

During this scene, Eddie had found himself in heaven. He was shocked and didn't know what to say. The first person Eddie meets is The Blue Man and he teaches Eddie the lesson of everything happening for a reason. He also teaches Eddie that things aren't what they seem. The Blue Man had said to Eddie about how everyone thinks heaven is a beautiful paradise with rainbows and everything, though it's really a place where people can go to relive their life.

The Blue Man shocks Eddie with this comment

During this part in the book, Eddie and The Blue Man are talking. Eddie then proceeds to ask The Blue Man how he died. The Blue Man shocked Eddie and said that he killed him. Eddie was in shock and didn't know what to say. He was so young and never realized.

When Eddie looked a mirror and he realized he couldn't see himself

During this scene, Eddie had gone to meet his fourth person. He had woken up, blinked his eyes, and he went to the mirror. He had taken a look and all he saw was the inverse of the room. He couldn't see himself. Which shocked me because I didn't think that could happen.

Eddie expresses his love for his wife

In this scene, Eddie meets his wife in heaven. His wife teaches him a valuable lesson. She shows him that even when someone you love dies, they are still with you. It shows that even when they die, you won't love them any less.

Eddie meets the girl he's been thinking about for a very long time

In this part of the book, Eddie meets his fifth and final person. The little girl he had been longing to see if he saved. He had been wondering and wondering about her ever since he had tried his best to save her.

Tala taught Eddie a very important lesson

In this scene of the book, Tala, the little girl that Eddie had tried to save, had met Eddie. Eddie had found out that Tala was the little girl he had been wondering about. This girl had taught him that his life had value to it. Even if he thought it didn't. He had been loved by the many children he had met and they looked up to him with passion and love. Tala had said that all the children love him and admired him. Then, Tala hit Eddie with the most bearing news. She was the little girl that he had saw in the fire a long time ago. He couldn't save her, but her hands were the hands he had felt.
