You have to wonder is dining in restaurant becoming more and more redundant? There is a rising amount of delivery apps in our apps stores like grab food, food panda and a lot more... Now at every restaurant you go, you’ll almost see at least 1 delivery man waiting for the food to be delivered. Are Singaporeans become more and more lazy? In my personal opinion, the pros of dining at restaurants way out the cons.

I think we all know what online food delivery.there is no need for introduction.however information is only provided about the light side of online deliveries such as conveniencethe .The information about online delivery most people do not really bother to look into is the bad sides. the fact that it pollutes the world with plastic and the fact that you are basically isolated from society by just staying at home like a cave man waiting for your food to come.the obvious solution that most people would like to provide is dining at restaurants.Eating at restaurants has its pros and cons .some of the positive sides being fresh food and fast service. The negative side being crowded places leading to discomfort and the cleanliness of such restaurants. Did you know that at least 40 tons of plastic pollutes the Pacific Ocean due to online delivery?today we will be viewing the advantages and disadvantages from both point of views and discuss why It can have both positive an d negative impacts

Did you know that 70% of Singapore consumers order from food delivery apps at least once a month? Most Singaporeans prefer online delivery services because it is more convenient compared to going to a restaurant. With online food delivery services, food is delivered right at our doorsteps and we get to enjoy the food in the comfort of our own homes. However, online food delivery services increase the rate of plastic waste. Eating at restaurants allows us to reuse the utensils without wasting plastic. I personally prefer online food delivery services because it is more convenient although it increases the rate of plastic waste in Singapore.

In the past, the concept of online food delivery service was only limited to a single restaurant or menu. Now, it offers a veritable buffet online, allowing customers access to thousands of restaurants and millions of dishes. As the online food delivery sector continues to skyrocket, this would have a huge impact on the dine-in restaurants. Well, firstly some restaurants give out promo codes which can help reduce the price by 10 % and on other days some restaurants have promotion with exclusive deals. Not forgetting that one could also use points to reduce the price of the meal or by using an exclusive promo code to cancel off the delivery charges. With the convenience of eatting from home, one tends to use the online delivery service more often than actually going out to a restaurant to dine in.Therefore, there are both pros and cons in using the online delivery services and to dine in at a restaurant. In my opinion, online delivery services are better as they are more accessible and cheaper.

But there are also some disadvantages of food deliveries like the more usage of plastic and paper bags which are not economic friendly the prices of food also go up because of the delivery fees. Did you know that according to national geographic we produce 3.5 million tons of solid waste and plastic a day.
This is not making the earth a better place to be inhabited. Earning outside and going out physically will take time but it will be economic friendly as it does not use as much paper and plastic bags. So is the choice of being able to get your food should only be convinient to you or for the environment too.

This outstanding figure itself shows the reliability of the food delievery apps and as this industry starts continues to skyrocket, it makes one ponder if food delievery is overrated. One could say that food delievery is the very definition of a double-edged sword. There is a number of advantages to using the food delievery concept such as not needing to go through the hassle of leaving your house as well as the efficiency as all you need to do is press a couple of buttons on your smartphone device. On the other hand, the cost could be exorbitant as there is a delievery fee and there will be a longer waiting time.
