Also upon watching his music videos it is clear that he mainly focuses on the pop genre of music as he works with artists like Justin Bieber, Drake, Rihanna and other well known artists in the pop genre.

In most of his videos, Director X uses fast cut editing in the most so that a lot of shots are seen in a short space of time. The clip below is one example of fast cutting from one of Director X videos to help portray different men going through having to deal with their partners cheating on them. This type of editing works well to keep audiences engaged as well as progressing the story on at a quick pace so that the video itself doesn't become too long. As well as this it helps when cutting from the narrative performance to the performance of the artist. Director X also has a habit of making the artist that is performing, also perform in the narrative, which further engages the audience.

This is another example of fast cutting editing from another music video by Director X, though this has been used to show suggest a good time and happiness, which is different from the fast cutting in the previous example. Also, fast cutting and the use of costume suggests the directors intention to display this as a summer song.

Also in his music videos, Director X uses a lot of close-up shots to show the emotions of the artists in his videos. In this example, Director X has used a close-up on the main artists to show them having a good time, and has been used to reflect/link to the name of the song which is 'Glad You Came'. Also the close-ups are only shown for a few seconds before being moved on to the next frame. The close-up isn't really central and the camera moves slightly. All of these techniques the Director X uses have been used to create an atmosphere of being at a party/club.

This is one example of a close-up shot that is used by Joseph Kahn. In his videos, he has close-ups on the performers in his videos as well as the main artists that are singing the song. The close-ups used in his videos are often used to show the emotion that is being explored in the video. The best example is of Rihanna in the song 'Love The Way You Lie' by Eminem. Rihanna in the close up shows her pain in her facial expressions to reflect the story being told of a relationship in turmoil and the pain that comes with that experience. The artist and the performers in the video engage the audience, as well as helping them feel the emotion of the song.

Low angles are often used in. Joseph Kahns music videos to portray different meanings. A key example is in Taylor Swifts 'Bad Blood' in which a low angle is used to show women walking towards the camera. This low angle shot is significant to show the power of women in the video. This has a impact on audiences as its clear that through a simple camera angle, Joseph Kahn is promoting the power of women, and attempting to empower the women watching the video. This therefore reflects Taylor Swifts fanbase and her target audience. However the use of the 'male gaze' technique throughout this video shows that the video is also targeted towards the male gender.

Much like Director X, Joseph Kahn uses fast cut editing for his music videos in order to engage and keep audiences interested. 'Thunder' by Imagine Dragons, is a good example to show how the music video is progressed at a fast pace through the technique of fast editing. Also through the example of 'Bad Blood' by Taylor Swift, fast cut editing enables the story of two female armies facing off to be told in the stereotypical time frame of a music video. And it is done in a way that is successful and engaging.

Like Joseph Kahn, Dave Meyers uses tracking shots in his music videos. This example of 'Havana' by Camila Cabello follows the main artist around the room as she moves from dancer to dancer. This is significant in engaging the audience, as it gives the impression that the audience is also following her. This successfully makes the video more interesting and enjoyable. Also the use of choreography again adds to the enjoyment of the video.
