Remember to analyze your poems
1. Read the poem to yourself out loud, twice if you have to.
2. Think about the title and how it relates to the poem
3. Think about the speaker and how it relates to the poem
4.Think about the mood & tone and how it relates to the poem 
5.Think about the paraphrase and how it relates to the poem
6.Think about the theme and how it relates to the poem

Summative Assessment
I will give you five different poems: Sonnet, Haiku, Free verse, Epics or narrative poetry. The students will have to identify the type of poetry and then submit before the end of class.The objective would be that the students will show understanding of what they’ve learned in the poetry unit through a summative assessment online
Formative Assessment
I will give students a poem and ask the students to find examples of figurative language. figures of speech refers to similes, metaphophors, personification, onomatopoeia and exaggeration. When the students have completed their assignment they will have an exit question before class ends.
