By giving children a chance to meet there role models (first team players) this will increase participation and interest in the event.

On each day there is a different age group playing their matches and this can go all the way up to men's leagues that can play. 
Another strategy that could increase the participation in sport/physical activity is that the government are looking to build more parks around the UK, by doing this it would increase the participation of football as more teams will be developed /founded because there will be more playing surfaces and pitches.
