Child Data Protection Inadequate In Tiktok

A Canadian investigation found that TikTok’s efforts to stop children under 13 from using the app and to protect their personal data were inadequate. The inquiry revealed that the platform had collected sensitive information from many Canadian children and used it for targeted ads and content. Canada’s privacy commissioner, Philippe Dufresne, criticized TikTok for gathering vast amounts of data that could harm young users. TikTok said it would introduce new measures in Canada, though it disagreed with some findings. The case reflects wider global scrutiny of TikTok, including U.S. national security concerns and European Commission restrictions on the app to protect data and cybersecurity.

Ousmane Dembele winning the Ballon D’or

Ousmane Dembélé won his first Ballon d’Or after a remarkable season with Paris St-Germain, helping them secure a historic treble of the Champions League, Ligue 1, and French Cup. The 28-year-old forward scored 35 goals and provided 14 assists in 53 matches, including 21 goals in Ligue 1, where he finished joint top scorer, and was named player of the year in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League. His transformation came after PSG coach Luis Enrique shifted him from the wing to a central striker role in December, sparking a run of 30 goals that revived his career. PSG, who signed him for just £43.5m in 2023, were named Team of the Year, with several of their players—Vitinha, Hakimi, Donnarumma, and Mendes—finishing in the top 10 of the rankings. Lamine Yamal, 18, finished second and won the Kopa Trophy, while Mohamed Salah and Cole Palmer also featured in the top 10, as last year’s winner Rodri missed out due to injury.

Typhoon Ragasa makes landfall in China after 17 killed in Taiwan

Typhoon Ragasa has made landfall in China after devastating Taiwan, where at least 17 people died when a lake burst and caused severe flooding. Around two million people have been evacuated in China as the storm brings torrential rain — a month’s worth expected in a single day in Zhuhai city. Although Ragasa has weakened from super to severe typhoon status, it is still highly destructive with winds of up to 241 km/h (150 mph). It is the world’s strongest storm this year, compared to a Category 5 hurricane, and has been moving across the South China Sea for days. In Hong Kong, the typhoon did not make direct landfall but still injured 90 people as it skirted the coast with fierce winds and heavy rain.

And does light ever die?

He said they still struggle to find out, they called Astrophysicist Matthew Middleton.

What they do know is that light comes in many forms and nobody can define exactly what light is.

The universe’s deepest secrets must be unimaginably ancient. If light has crossed the vastness of the universe to reach us, it surely has secrets within it.

A new study found an amazing amount of consistency between pesticide residues on produce and levels found in human urine, showing that eating a lot of fruits and vegetables with higher levels of pesticides can raise the levels of dozens of pesticides in urine. Researchers say this integrated measure of pesticide toxicity provides backing for the Dirty Dozen in the EWG’s Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides in Produce, where the 2025 guide reported 203 pesticides on the Dirty Dozen produce, with most foods testing for over 50 pesticides.

Is there actually any science behind this?

Caffeine makes us feel awake because it hinders a chemical in our brain called adenosine.

By the evening, this adenosine helps us feel sleepy and it gets cleared away while we sleep.

So the caffeine blocking the adenosine we don’t feel the sleepiness strongly.
