- Each guideline emphasizes learner variability that could present barriers in the classroom
Guidelines aligned with UDL:
 - Affect: We illustrate how these Guidelines can be used as a lens to re-frame and improve classroom practice.
 - Recognition: We illustrate how these Guidelines can be applied in the design of online learning tools.
 - Strategy: We illustrate the deep connection between these Guidelines and the learning brain.

- The guidelines assist teachers to realize what is important to vary in order to provide an engaging and effective lesson for all learners 
- The guidelines helps educators see things differently and consider all types of learners
- Motivation is extremely crucial for young learners. UDL refers to this as "multiple means of engagement"
-"The first engagement Guideline focuses us on the real goal of education: developing learning expertise."
-"The second engagement Guideline addresses the sustainability of engagement."
-"The third Guideline emphasizes options that a teacher can use to recruit engagement."
- UDL is designed based off research of cognitive and affective neuroscience
-Frontal lobe provides executive functions
Students differ in:
      -Their ability to set appropriate goals for themselves, to choose effective strategies and skills, to monitor their own progress
      -Their ability to develop fluency in skills such as writing, speaking, dancing, drawing, playing sports
      -Their ability to move and perform basic actions
(This is extermely important to recognize as an educator. This could be a reason students may be struggling in your classroom)
- There is no single method, strategy or tool that will help every student be successful in the classroom
- Educator must provide options relevant to the lesson and learning goal. Also teachers must create a learning  
environment that is effective for all students.
- UDL guidelines purpose is to provide guidance and scaffolding to be used during day to day instructions
- Each guideline is EQUALLY important and need to be implement considering each one.
